I have often found some of the best plots just needs a little more care. I love vampire lore, this book sounds like it would be a good one, especially since Raven is so young. Thanks for the review.

I cannot even begin to imagine the turmoil Raven was in. Being thrust into a world you have no business in and without warning must be confusing and scary. Thanks for the review.

I agree with your statement that there is nothing new when it comes to vampire novels. Perhaps vampires could be reinvented to avoid this issue. I find it interesting that the author chose to set the story in the same year that the Declaration of Independence was signed.

Thank you for a descriptive and honest review.

Yes, Raven is quite young. She's advanced beyond her years. Thanks for commenting.

My teens were filled with novels about vampires and werewolves. I will definitely add this one to my shelf.
But the path I’ve chosen has always been the right one, and I wouldn’t have had it any other way. :)

This is definitely a must read for me. While reading through the summary of the book, it reminded me of my favourite T.V series The Originals because of the vampires. I'd equally love this book.

Indeed, Raven was born into darkness. As for Samuel, he sounds like a psychopath consumed by a lingering thirst for bloodshed. Just as you said, I love to hate him already! The gore is nothing new. I'm adding it to my shelves.

Raven is in a dilemma. I hope she channels her intelligence and strength toward the part of survival and adaptation. I enjoyed your review.
