Is it an adventure book or a mystery? It involves magicians, and the title might have something to do with restoring peace. The review does speak volumes about how you'd be engaged by the storyline.

"The Three Card Trick" by Charles Townsend is the second book in the series whose main character is the magician Delvin. The magician Borlock left Delvin with a magic stone that allows him to influence other people's minds. The book is full of action and adventure.

This review is absolutely wonderful! It's fantastic to hear that "The Three Card Trick" not only met but exceeded your expectations, especially considering your high praise for the first book. The fact that the characters' physical descriptions were improved upon in this installment is great feedback for the author, as it enhances the reader's immersion in the story.

It's also fantastic to hear that the action, adventure, and Delvin's magic tricks kept you captivated throughout the book. The introduction of new characters like Nippy sounds intriguing, and it's impressive how they were able to evolve and contribute to the story in meaningful ways.

Thank you for highlighting the professionalism of the editing and for providing a fair and balanced review, noting both the positives and the potential concerns regarding the violent scenes. Your recommendation to young adult readers interested in magic and adventure is valuable. Your thorough and thoughtful review is greatly appreciated—it's reviews like yours that help other readers discover hidden gems like "The Three Card Trick".

Today's BOTD is a second-in-series novel that can standalone, but based on your review, it sounds like we'll love it so much that we will wish we started with Book 1. I'm happy to say I now have them both!! Yay! Readers who enjoy fantasy novels filled with adventure, magic, and well-developed characters that keep you glued to the pages will want to give this a try. Thank you for the amazing review!! :-)
