Dear ALynn Powers,

Thank you very much for the review. The novella is part of the series of The Scribes of Brahmadhan. It's an introduction to who the scribes are and what Brahmadhan represents. The second book will deal more into science fiction and fantasy. Thank you again.

Best,

Ooooooh. How fun. I totally thought it was more of a mystery... But looks like it's going to take a twist I probably wouldn't have expected. Awesome!!

This sounds like a very unique book. I like historical fiction, and I speak a little French, so I'll have to give this one a shot. Great review!

I don't speak any French yet it was super easy to understand. It will be simple for you, probably! I'm super curious about how much French influence there is in the Cambodian language today. Kind of like how Tagalog has so much Spanish influence. So interesting. We never hear about the history of this part of the world in America. It's a shame!

A murder set in South-East Asia, a female sleuth, and great lessons? sounds delightful! I love books that combine several different genres and will give it a try. Thank you for the review!

To be honest, I've never stumbled upon the word Cambodge before. I don't have a lot of knowledge about the French occupying Cambodia in the past and this book seems like a perfect way to learn about history. The plot also seems very intriguing especially with the lessons included. Thanks for the great review.

Love a good historical fiction and add mystery and a strong female character and I'm grabbing my copy. Congrats on being BOTD.

I love historical mysteries and the fact that the heroine's father was a detective caught my eyes. The books not only sounds interesting, but I hope there will be a sequel as well, one where Anjali will get to deal with more complex cases and really establish herself as an investigator in her own right.

I lived in Cambodia for a couple of months and I really enjoyed it. A fascinating country with some incredible people, so this book sounds wonderful.

This sounds like a really interesting read. I love that it is easy to follow and yet has themes of fighting against prejudice and bias. Sounds like something I would really enjoy!

Historical fiction is not one of my favorite genres, but this book sounds interesting enough for any reader. The story does sound complex but like you said could be easy to follow. Great review.
