Gregory Kontaxis's The Return of the Knights is a gripping account of the protracted conflict that raged in Knightdorn for years. I adore the antagonist's character in this tale. You might as well go all out and be exceedingly bad if you're going to be bad. Walter is a cruel, no-second-chance villain who makes others feel afraid and disgusted. He is incredibly shrewd and driven. The author's work deserves congratulations for being BOTD.

This is a great review of The Return of the Knights. The quick blurb about it on Amazon made it seem like a run-of-the-mill good versus evil medical tale. This detailed review gave a much better perspective on the story, the way it is narrated to help the reader learn about the backstory and world they are reading about. I was still skeptical it would be a typical story but the reviewer mentioned that the story would deviate from the normal tropes to keep you intrigued and guessing what would happen next. I will definitely give this book a chance based on this review.

Wonderful review! Right off the back, I’ll say that the illustrations and cover art immediately caught my attention. I love how boldly everything stands out about them. As for the book itself, the reviewer did such an excellent job laying out everything great about it (and so persuasively, to boot), I feel there isn’t much for me to say that wouldn’t feel redundant. However, I will point this out:

I became a spectator rather than a person being narrated to.

There are constant surprises, and one can never accurately assume the next thing to happen. When things seem to be going in one direction, something unexpected occurs that turns things in another direction. The suspense factor makes the book difficult to put down. There is no abrupt cliffhanger, but the author generates so much fascination and intrigue that anybody who reads this book will want to see how the story plays out.

If these aren’t signs of prime storytelling, I don’t know what are!
