It seems like this is a sort of coming-of-age novel, yet the review says that its violence may not be suitable for younger readers, which creates an interesting conflict that only reading the novel could resolve. Thanks for writing such a helpful review that invites the reader to think about these things!

Intense is good, and authentic, in a great fantasy novel...at least, in my opinion. This definitely sounds like a book I'm going to love. Thanks for the great review!

In addition to the great plot is the set of well-developed and admirable characters. The Dragoneers are smart, brave, honorable and selfless. They have their own share of pains and losses making it easy to relate with them and root for them. Even the minor characters are memorable. Herald is the fatherly King’s Ranger, Linux is the well-meaning and powerful druid, Mysterian is the intimidating witch and Blanchard is the arrogant king.
Great review! You really had me interested while talking about the plot but then you started on the characters and I now know I have to read this book!
Congrats to the Author on getting BOTD!

This book sounds great for fans of this genre, unfortunately, I didn't find anything that interested me enough to commit to reading the whole book. But I'm sure others will enjoy it :)

Thanks for the review. I really like when all the characters are well-developed and that you can really react to. I also appreciate you bringing attention to the fact that some scenes are not appropriate for young readers.

I'm glad this is the first one, I was concerned when I saw there were 6 books. I will get to the others, I just didn't want to start out of sequence and I didn't want to have to buy 6 books at one time. Thank you for the great review! Congrats to the author! I also got the audible version. ???

Thanks for your review. I love my fantasy dark and gory so this sounds right up my alley. I love the array of mythical creatures which seem to abound in this and I can't wait to give it a try.
