This book immerses us in astrophysics, space shuttles, and the solar system study. While reading this review, I could tell the reviewer enjoyed every aspect of the book. Additionally, the author's writing prowess is unparalleled. 'What would I do If I knew the world is ending in five years? I need Ulysses to teach me.

I'm not big on sci-fi but the mention of neutron star named Ulysses that could impact the earth and the preparation time for this even is short is something that draws my interest. So I'll definitely give this a try.
Thanks for a great review. Congrats on BOTD.

“Exodus” by Jean Hackensmith and Joseph McDowell is a sci-fi novel that tells readers about the impending destruction of Earth from a Neutron Star. This star is going to impact Earth in 2028 so scientists have less than 5 years to plan a exodus from Earth to another habitable planet. With over eight billion people living on Earth, only 100,000 will board the “Arks” that will transport them to one of the possible habitable planets based on distance from Earth ranging from 4.4 light years to 1,400 light years away. The major powers on Earth are secretly building the Arks so many countries will not be represented on the spaceships. Only 10,000 healthy people will occupy each Ark. There is no way to stop the Neutron Star that with the junk surrounding the star is ten times larger than Earth. The sample kept me on the edge of my seat so I will have to read the entire book. A very good review.

Being fictional, I like that this book is suited to someone like me with no knowledge of astrophysics or space travel. Even then, we are a long way from understanding intergalactic travel. Thanks for the review.

Thanks for an informative review. I initially thought I was going to be reading a book of the bible and was surprised to discover a gripping plot when the earth is no longer habitable. This of course is a very likely scenario for the future of our planet, making this book which blends science fiction, human relationships and sacrifice all the more fascinating.

The book is both about the need for fast progress to escape from Earth before its destruction and also about the lives of people who are trying to secure the future of humanity. It has both the science and the emotion.
