Pip Paisley's 'Always Carry Your Scythe' sounds like a thrilling dive into a world filled with supernatural beings and dark intrigue. The concept of a gameshow that manipulates souls adds a unique and captivating twist to the story

Maybe this is a matter of choice, but supernatural stories about demons, angels, and the devil, often sound too fictional to me, and now this story makes death sound like a person. Still, I find some of them interesting.

"Always Carry Your Scythe" sounds like a horror movie. Demons, werewolves, pixies, and vampires are all in the book, and it explores the depths of hell itself. The author's creativity in the book is really commendable. I am looking forward to finding out what tactics Trixie will use to save her friend amidst all the dangers in hell. Congratulations to the BOTD author!

“Always Carry Your Scythe” by Pip Paisley is a fantasy story about demons, werewolves, vampires, drag queens and angels. This is quite the story about a supernatural world. Trixie D’Vita is the main character, and she works at a pub called Quandors. She was working her shift when two agents from the AIB (Angel Investigative Bureau) walked in and wanted to know how they could contact her mother, Death. The agents suspected that Death was involved with the gameshow called “To the Wheel” where souls were lured with the promise of Heaven but instead, they had horrible lifetimes and went to Hell. Trixie’s best friend Zuzi went to the game show as part of the audience and ended up in Hell. Trixie sets off to rescue Zuzi. This story is based on true friendship and the love Trixie had for Zuzi. Readers are transported to a fantasy realm and visit a Hell that is not the fiery place we have been taught, but it is still a horrible place where souls are sent. Having a mom named Death is strange but she actually transports souls after they die. Death’s whereabouts affect the souls of the recently departed and she is friends with the King of Hell. Will Trixie rescue Zuzi?

It's is very scary to realise that there are vampires, demons, pixies and other dangerous supernatural beings in the afterlife.

Oh my! This looks like all shades of captivating. I've always wondered whether vampires, werewolves and such exist. Reading about them fascinates me, then adding a trip to hell in the narrative has sure made this book one i would really love to read.

Thank you for the review.

This isn't a regular fantasy novel indeed! I don't think I've come across any book with such a setting and combination of characters. Even other fantasy books I've read with the setting, plot and characters being about the supernatural were not as detailed as this.
