Thomas seems like a character that I would love. He finds it in his heart to forgive even though he suffers from depression due to his oppressors. Seems like a great read. Great review.

this book seems to have all the good stuff, history, sci-fiction, romance and the thrills
but is book 3 in a series so now i’d have to go back and read the first and second

I didn't read the first book, Surviving Anstey, because I wasn't into the story, so to say. So I doubt I'll read this one. However, this sounds like a fitting sequel to the first book.

The story sounds interesting, particularly the combination of science fiction and historical fiction. The strain on the protagonists’ relationship sounds compelling and heart-wrenching as well. Still, I haven’t been able to read the first one yet due to my busy schedule, and I prefer to read a series in order when I can (especially when the premise sounds as complicated as this one), so I think I’ll wait on this one until I can.
