Today's BOTD is a fantasy novel - Book 1 in the Illusions of Power series - that's both engaging and fast-paced. Readers who enjoy stories filled with action, adventure, magic, and murder will definitely want to give this one a try! Thanks for the great review! :-)

I had such a great time following Delvin through all of his adventures. There were several times I wondered just how he would make it out of the mess he was in. This was a fun story to read. Thank you for your review.

I’m looking forward to digging into this novel to find out if Delvin and his magic get him into danger as he wondered if it is really he who killed his mentor or he was framed. I love reading stories of magic and mysteries and this one seems to be right up my alley.

I would love to read about the adventures of Delvin, Princess Jarla, and Fionella in that magical world. I'm sure Delvin had nothing to do with what happened to Magician Borlock; I hope I have free time to read the story and know the truth. Remarkably, the book has strong, brave, and daring female characters. It is mentioned in the review that the author described the appearance of the characters very little; however, for me, that aspect is not a problem. I love the shade of blue used for the cover; a good design.

Thanks for your great review. While this said that it was a science fiction book, to me, that's not what the sample was. I appreciate you explaining more about what was going on in the book. I think I will give this book a try and add it to my list of ones to read.

I was tempted to ask if it was the magic that made him do that. How on earth would he have done that unintentionally? Nice review!

This sounds like an intriguing book brimming with adventure, magic, and intrigue. I wonder what happened during that time that Devlin can't remember. He's got quite the mission ahead of him. Thanks for the informative review.

I really enjoy fantasy novels. I think when books do not describe something in detail and left to the readers' imagination might be a part of the journey into the story. It is like when we left in a clift-hanger and then start imagining what could be the next possibility act or scene. Anyway, I wanna know the reason whythe magician got murdered. Thank you for a great review.

This is a very compelling review. I'd like to read who framed Delvin and what could be the possible reason they had. Well done reviewer.

Solid review that sets up the initial premise without over-summarizing. I agree that more description in these chapters would elevate the story quite a bit. There's a lot of dialogue and internal ruminations, but the action feels squeezed in between enchantments and shouting. What is the Ploughman's Inn like inside, for instance? Is the figure in black menacing in some way, or just mysterious?
