I NEED to read this book!! Great job on the review. I love how you pointed out what annoyed you and what you loved about the book. Also, it seems weird how they described her as a renowned assassin and she doesn't turn out to be as ruthless but I can't wait to read it!

Very good review. Liked the analogy you used for the main character's description contradicting the role she plays. I will add to my shelf.

This book sounds like it would be right up my alley, and I think your criticism is fair. I wonder if Aerietta being easily deceived by men is supposed to be a consequence of her maturing and taking interest in the opposite sex for the first time. I'm not sure what her age in the story is, but that would be the only plausible explanation I can think of. Thanks for a great review!

The Afterlight Chronicles debut novel seems interesting and a fascinating historical epic.

Strong female characters always interest me. Aerietta sounds like a fascinating character. Thanks for the honest review about the strengths and weaknesses of the book.

The story of Aerietta appears to have a robust story line. I hate when fantasy books are all magic and no substance. This sounds different. Bravo.

Aerietta's background seemed mysterious and complicated that I got a bit lost in the review. This makes me intrigued to dig into her story and be enlightened with who she really was and what was with her tattoo.

Despite the disparities in her shifting skill at judging danger, I absolutely adore Aerietta. She is spunky and highly skilled (and she knows it) at a mere seventeen years old, but at the same time is ALL teenager. I LOVED the eye-rolls. As a Mom who has raised two girls through their teens and come out the other side, I can say with certainty that her attitude (and sense of judgment) is spot-on for a seventeen-year-old girl, whether she's an assassin or not! I will most assuredly be reading the rest of the book. Wonderfully written review. I enjoyed reading it!

I might have to agree with you on how she being a bad judge of character doesn't seem to align with her being an assassin. It is like a soft skill which people in her profession must possess and it's quite shocking to have that as a flaw. Nonetheless, the storyline is intriguing. Thank you!

This really sounds like an interesting book. I read a book similar to it in the past that I loved, so I have high hopes for this one and can't wait to dive into it!

This sounds like an interesting fantasy with a lot of cool characters. I’m curious about the girl with the birthmark.
