This review really caught my attention and now I must read this book..well, after I finish my current one! Sci-fi is one of my main genres that I usually gravitate towards, so when I saw that "The Quantum Cartogtapher," was about a dystopian time and involved time travel, I was definitely transfixed. Altogether, this review was superb and I found a new book and author today, which gives me a reason to read more.

It sounds like the relationship from parent to child is really well developed. An ensemble of other interesting characters is great too. I love time travel books when they are done well and it sounds like this one is. I think I am going to have to give it a try!

I was quickly drawn in with the suspense in the first chapter. However I am not really into sci-fi so the second chapter was just ok. From what I read the book seems to be well written and will be a very good read for those that enjoy this type of book. :D

Thanks for the review! This book isn't for me, as I don't like sci-fi, especially not time travel related. I am happy to hear that the book was edited properly. This is always the saving grace.

Really enjoyed the quick preview I got of the book and your review has definitely piqued my interest further! I too love a good time-travel story and this story sounds like one that has a lot to sink your teeth into without being overwhelming or bogged down in too many details.

Even though this type of story is not my thing, the sample pages coupled with this review have made me decide to add this to my want to read shelf. Great detail. Thank you.

The review was spot on about this story. I read the free preview of this book and it captures you right away. The author has the ability to give you a solid picture of the characters in a couple of paragraphs. You emediately become invested in what will happen to them and so want more of them to be revealed.

Though the reviewer was rooting for Eliza and her son to eacape, and you will also, I found myself wanting to know more about the proctor and what his stake in this story is. The story really does start out action packed and draws you right in from the first page. I agree with the review, if you like the sci-fi genre and the universal struggle of good vs evil, then this will definitely please the reader.

I'm not that convinced it's a good review based on the sample I read. Good for the author, maybe, but not an accurate picture of the quality of the writing.

The "Sara Connor" parallel seems a little forced to me, especially since "the chosen one" (the boy) is present from the start and his presence goes unremarked in favor of an info-dump ln the form of an interrogation.

I don't recall any of the other characters referred to in the review. They do seem interesting, but they aren't in the sample

I should have read the review before I read the story. Chapter 1 with Eliza escaping with her son and having escape plans where she shimmies down tied bedsheets, holding on to her son was great (especially when she set it on fire with Proctor in the bedroom). I hope the bugger got burned. I did get lost when I read the second chapter, but the review above is fantastic and answers my questions. I definitely want to purchase this book.
