The Harry potter books were the first books to hit my brothers shelf, which meant that they were the first hand me down books to hit my shelf. They were so addictive , i re-read a couple before each movie came out. I remember pretending to be sick so that i could stay home from school to finish reading deathly hallows!

This series of books was the greatest thing ever according to my husband. He loved the books. Myself on the other hand don't really like that type of imaginary scheme.

OMG I LOVED Harry Potter. I read it like every free moment of my life. But, Harry Potter is mainly good because of all the suspense, so while reading it a second time, you feel like its not as awesome as the first time you read it.

I remember the 1st 3 stories read to my 3rd grade class. It was fun, but reading it by myself, not so much. I loved the movies, but cannot get hooked into the books, especially not when everything is so englishy and difficult to understand for me.

When I started reading “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone,” I found myself escaping into a world filled with magic, told from the perspective of a boy that I could relate to. This whole book spoke out to me in ways I don’t know that anyone could understand. By the end of the book, my heart poured out in sorrow that this tale was ending and I didn’t want it to end. The whole series helped me identify with who I am today. I am a fighter because of Harry Potter. I never give up easily because Rowling taught me strength. I never pass judgment before I know the full story because you should never judge a book by its cover. I am skeptical of corruption but believe in the goodness of people. I fight for every person I love who is struggling with a world that constantly pushes them down. I count every small victory, learn from every failure, and wake up every morning with my mind’s eye trained on the bigger picture that we are fighting for. J. K. Rowling did not just shape my childhood. She shaped me.

J. K. Rowling rocks my world with Harry Potter.

The Harry Potter series literally changed my life. I know this sounds a little bit silly, but it is true. I read the first Harry Potter book about a year after it came out. I was about ten or so. The book was forbidden in my house because we were strict Roman Catholic. My sister secretly gave me the book anyhow. I kept it hidden under my mattress. The night after she gave it to me, I started to read it. I stayed up until 4am that night, just reading this book. I had never liked to read before this. I was doing poorly in school and just had no will to continue with my studies (I was also in Catholic school). However, when I finished the book in that ungodly hour, I realized I had been missing out on so much. It was not that I just was not interested in school or learning, it was that I was interested in things I had never been exposed to before. I started visiting libraries and spending entire weekends outside reading away from home.
Seventeen years later...and I put myself through college, got a 4.0 in my Master's program, and happily read multiple books a month.

I've read this series nearly three times now. With every time, however, there is something new to learn about the wide array of characters. My favorite is by far Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, and my least favorite is probably Chamber of Secrets. But even my least favorite Harry Potter book is loads better than any other young adult novel I've read before.

I read the Harry Potter series as an adult and enjoyed all of the books very much. Now my daughter is reading the Potter series and her excitement about the Potter books brings back fond memories.

I read the Harry Potter series when I was young. My brothers thought that I didn't understand what was going on in the books at the time because I was so young. I understood a majority of it and the stuff that I was unsure about, I would ask someone to explain it to me. I love all of the ones I read. I think i skipped one though.

I absolutely love the Harry potter series. The way that the books grow with the reader is fantastic. I also love the way Hermoine can inspire young girls that it is a great thing to be intelligent, independent and strong instead of being the victim. A great series covering lifelong friends.

Being such a big Harry potter fan, and knowing the worldwide success of the books and movies, I can not believe how empty this thread is! It's like it's opened up a whole new world for me where no one knows the true amazingness of the HP series!

I have the whole series, in 3 different editions, that's how much I love them!! And when my two children are older, I'll be reading them all to them and they can share the pure awesomeness of the fantasy world that genius J.K. Rowling created. I have visited the Harry Potter Set in Watford, near London and it had to be one of the most fantastic experiences I've ever got to do. I am planning on going back there again and again as they tend to add additional stuff every now and again.

My older sister started reading the first couple of books to me when I was younger as a bed time story, and since then I was hooked. You would find me outside of the shop on a new book launch day, in the queue of hundreds of people, waiting for the store to open to be one of the first people to read the next bit of adventure that J.K. Rowling put Harry and his friends through.

If you have not read them, you really need to because you seriously are missing out on a great set of books.

I grew up reading these books. As harry and the gang got older so did i. I felt like i was apart of the world. Every time i opened the book i could picture everything going on. I cried when someone died or when one of my favorite characters gothurt or was sad. The author of these books is amazing. Everything is so well thought out and good. She truly did create a whole new world. I have contined to read other books by her as well. DDefinitely recommend this series to everyone

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's stone was the first book I ever read. Although, I didn't really read any of the books until the first three movies were out. Still, I liked the books better. Its the details that make the books better. When I had finished Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows, I literally felt like a part of me was lost. I had no sequels to look forward to :(

I've re-read each book of the series - some of them i did multiple times to be honest. I do think it is a really good book and it helps to get younger people involved in reading.
