I'm surprised a character in the novel bears my very tribal name. I wonder what informed the author's choice of names for the characters. That said, I like the premise of the book; an alien abduction and forced marriage sound like a fascinating concept.

This books appears to be a page turner, the storyline is intriguing and I'm in love with the character of Abby already. Kudos to the author for this not so regular storyline and Congrats on BOTD!

Action filled science fiction novel about an unconventional love story about a woman and an alpha alien. This must be a thought-provoking read. I highly appreciate your elaborative review! :tiphat:

The sample pages were engaging, and your review confirms that this is a quality sci-fi romance novel. Great review!

I generally like sci-fi, but I'm not sure if I would enjoy this one since it involves the alien capturing the human as a mate.

Terrifying alien abduction aside ... this sounds like a great read! It's refreshing to know that Abby does not just immediately abandon her old life for her knew lover. As you stated, this happens in so many romance novels ... such a turn off. This sounds like a story I could lose track of time in. Nice review!

It was so nice and emotional seeing an alien fighting for the love of a human. It's such a lovely thing to read and I love that part most.

An interesting and detailed review. The combination of alien and romance does seem a bit off.

Nisha Ward wrote: 12 Oct 2019, 17:54 This is a fascinating twist on the genre and it does highlight the shortcomings that have kept me away from it for so long. Unfortunately, I think I need more than a twist to read another story about someone taking a woman as a mate via kidnapping.
I completely agree with you. I too have steered clear of this genre, for frankly, I hate the idea of men taking women to be their mates against their will. I don't like what it promotes. I do, however, enjoy the twist on the story that directly addresses the issue of the genre. Feminism needed to be a predominant theme in this novel for me to even think of reading it. I love Abby's character and how well she represents a strong, independent woman who understands her rights and stands to protect her own rights and the rights of other women.
Additionally, as a fanatic of supernatural beings and mystical creatures, I am even more fascinated by the theory posited by the novel to explain how humans have come in contact with these creatures over the years. It is truly a plausible theory and might just break way to a whole different genre in the world of fiction.
I thoroughly enjoyed the novel and the new ideas put forth by it.

Nothing like a "sexy alpha alien" story! This sounds a little ridiculous... maybe that is part of the point? I have a hard time knowing how seriously books like this take themselves.

A fascinating story of aliens and their pursuits that reveal their human side, and I think it is worth reading.

I'm extremely into both sci-fi and romance. This sounds like a perfect blending of the two. I've read similar stories in the past, but the "strong female lead" always seems to just buckle under after she's told enough times that she's "mated" to whoever. I'm glad to find that Abby takes a stronger stance than this. I can't wait to see Nick have to work to earn her trust and affection!! Excellent review. Well done!

A sci-fi romance book does not sound like the read for me; it is a bit too unrealistic for my liking. Based on what I know though, I am sure that it is a great story. Those that like romance and sci-fi together will enjoy this one for sure. Congrats to the author on BOTD! :)
