The description of this books does sound intriguing. Harry Potter meets Game of Thrones. These are some of my favorite things. I've got to try it!

I love Harry Potter so this sounds interesting. But I usually love to read a series when all the books are out. Great review.

I agree with the reviewer, kids and violence together is disturbing. Although I love fantasy, I'd think before choosing to read this one for that reason.

The title is what caught my attention, but your review for it makes it sound worth reading. I can't wait to read it myself!

Harry Potter meets Game of Thrones? Well, if this description is not enough to draw readers in like moth to a flame, then I don't know what will! Nice book cover, very enticing. Though the main character are kids and teenagers, this book is for anyone who enjoys fantasy-adventure-magic stories. Congrats!

Agreed! Your reviews are a delight to read. I’ve noticed that authors are trying to keep the page count under 300 while still trying to cram 400-500 pages worth of information. This makes the book feel rushed or missing details. Hopefully this will balance out soon.

The lack of detail you mentioned in your review is troubling. An essential component for good fantasy writing is excellent world-building. It doesn't sound like this book has that.

I'm always glad when I read such enthusiastic reviews. Fantasy is not my thing, though. Although I enjoyed Harry Potter very much I think my taste has changed a bit and I have to admit I've never watched Game of Thrones. The comparison you make seems very accurate and it helps to paint a picture of what to expect.
The novel seems a bit darker and it's, indeed, disturbing if you make yourself too aware of the ages of the characters.
Your comment regarding the lack of detail in some parts caught my attention because I often found the opposite in fantasy novels: that they give so many details that it becomes tiresome.
It was a very interesting and well-written review, thanks!

A fantasy novel with adventure and action According to the review is like Harry Porter merged with Games of Thrones. With that description, this book should be very good. A story that tells about vicissitudes that magicians can have.

The book sounds promising as I especially like books set in institutions of learning.I'd love to dive into it.

Sousaphone like a adventure. I don’t mind murder and gore. I am a little disturbed about the age group but I think I will give this a try. Anything that can be compared to Game of Thrones or Harry Potter is something I need to check out.

Sounds a bit like the gone series, with the violence and gore younger kids are capable of. Although it is a bit more gory than this one sounds. Might check it out.

When I read the sample, the premise seemed a little overused - as you mentioned, it echoes many works that came before. Still, the writing is compelling and the story seems exciting, at least on the surface. I may have to follow it further. Thank you for your review.
