Fantastic! Both the review and the book are just fantastic. Escaping a very intelligent alien sounds like a perilous undertaking. Can't wait to find out whether Thomas and Kat succeeded. Congrats on being the BOTD

This book is seemingly amazing. Knowing that it got a good ending for the first of a trilogy makes it more interesting. Books centred on super powers usually excite me because they are mostly filled with adventures. Kudos to the author and Congrats on BOTD!

One old man once told my mother, "My child, if I wipe your face you won't survive seeing the truth of what the world really is." I wonder if he was talking about evil superpowers. Nice story.

I just finished reading the sample, all fifteen chapters of it. There is no way I'm not finishing this book, and I've already put the next one on my list to read. As a time-travel sci-fi and romance combined, this plays right into my wheelhouse as far as reading preferences go. The author's writing is suspenseful, flowing, and very, very engaging. I have my fingers crossed that Kat and Thomas' escape from Anstey's clutches succeeds and that their romance flourishes. Since this is a trilogy, I may have to wait to find out, but it's a wait that seems very much worth it. Thanks for the review!

Anstey's arrival from the future to live and prosper in two decades back is very interesting and original. I have never read anything like this and would surely be reading this book. Thanks for a wonderful review!

It was nice that the review made it clear that the reader should be above 16. I was just wondering how could this be implemented. For an adult, this would make the story appealing or appalling, since the review stated clearly the elements: violence, torture, sex, and profanity. Yet, the review gave a hint of a love story. And yes, it is a science fiction. Ah! There is magic to it and special powers. Wow! It was also nice that the review stated it is a trilogy and yet the ending is resolved. Readers would find satisfaction and desire for more, both fulfilled.

So rare to find a good adventure book with amazing style of writing from an indie author. I'd like to know how this book will end. Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts about the book. Will definitely put this on my list.

This sounds like an intriguing science fiction and fantasy book. The "exciting and suspenseful plot, well-developed characters, and convincing sense of time and place" makes the book worth the time to read. I will consider the book. Congratulations on being the BOTD.

Author Susan Hancock has crafted a most compelling novel that blends together different genres to give its own unique approach. Romance fans will be delighted by the central pairing of Kat and Thomas, who follow many of the most popular struggles and developments of classic romance, though it is convincingly and meaningfully embedded into an original science fiction premise. I loved the inclusion of British history in the mix of galactic and alien influences, which makes for some fascinating developments for the characters and the world around them. The dialogue too was an effective blend between this historical time and the futuristic and highly developed alien refugees. Overall, I would certainly recommend Surviving Anstey for readers who enjoy compelling science fiction and action-packed romance that is masterfully written.
