I’m not a fan of dystopia. But this sounds interesting and I’m intrigued. Thanks for your review!

The book sounds like it would make a thrilling movie. Aerietta, the main protagonist comes through as being lethal. An assassin trained from quite an early age. I'm all for strong female characters and I look forward to reading the book. Thank you for a detailed review.

This book sounds very interesting. I don't consider the fact that Aerietta is naive and easily tricked by men a bad thing, every time assassins in books are strong and this is a unique point of view. I think I will read this book. Thank you for the review!

Official Review: Crown of Crimson (The Afterlight Chronicles Book 1) by Rose Reid is positive and encouraging! It gives me an understanding of the story of the book! The description of the characters of the story in the review is delightful to read! The book has been well analyzed and the minute details of the story have been highlighted in the review!

Oooh just my kind of novel! A dystopian fantasy with a strong female protagonist taking on the world, you say? Yes please! What an incredible feat for a first-time author, let alone a self-publishing one. Very well done and thank you for your wonderfully written review! Happy reading :techie-studyinggray:

I’m glad you mentioned your dissatisfaction with the protagonist’s characterization. That’s usually a dealbreaker for me and it’s something I see a lot with supposedly “strong” female protagonists even in very successful traditionally published novels. I feel they do more damage than good as far as changing female representation in art goes.

It sounds like this first book was written and edited well, which is half the battle. Great that the characters interacted in believable and surprising ways as well. Thanks for the great review.

I had a hard time getting into the sample of the book at first. But I was left very curious as to what becomes of the Queen. Thanks for the very honest review. Although my curiosity was piqued, this really isn't my genre. So, I will pass for now. Congratulations on BOTD.

As much as the story is crisp, it saddens me to say that this seems to be falling into the same YA dystopian fantasy category that one can see in abundance. The 'strong' female character too sounds like every other YA protagonist. Thank you for this informative review.

More power to the author for her debut novel! You review was quite detailed too. I'm not a fan of dystopian fantasy so I might pass on this one.

I guess the subtitle of the book rightly states, "Never anything other than extremely entertaining". The plot and the context seem to be in the right direction. Appreciate the review.🌸

A legendary and feared assassin with high level of skills and a blushing princess who is attracted to a handsome and trust blindly sounds so wrong together. However for a debut and a self published book this sounds excellent. Thanks for a great review.

Excellent review. About your observation - two character traits, fearless warrior and blushing ingénue, not fitting together seemed rational. But sometimes love is just blind.
Think before you review. Read before you think. :techie-studyinggray:
