Lilla’s double life as a rebellious princess and the key to saving her world makes her such a compelling character. I’m really curious to see how she handles the pressure of being the last Lumenian.
I'm not a fan of some of the genres of this book, but I'll give it a chance, as I'm intrigued by the theme, storyline, and Lilla's character. Thank you for the review.
"The Last Lumenian" promises to be a delightful read. I like the mix of science fiction, romance, and action. With the good character development, it's easy to relate to the characters and their experiences.
I'd love to give this book a read. Fantasy is my favorite genre, and the mention that "magic abounds with an archgod, an archgoddess, mages, healers, shape-shifters, etc." caught my attention. Thanks for the review!
DLD (Dark lord of destruction) is converting people of different planets into dark servants; who are fighting a war for them against Teryn warriors. Princess Lillian who gets panic attacks is the Lumenian who can defeat DLD. Will she be able to do so? This is a mix of fantasy and science fiction novel.
Thank you for such a thorough and insightful review! I found it particularly helpful that you highlighted how the novel balances action with breathing space—those moments to regroup often make fast-paced stories more enjoyable. Lilla sounds like a genuinely compelling protagonist, especially with her flaws and internal struggles, like the panic attacks. That kind of emotional depth makes her feel real and relatable. I also appreciated the note about the book’s core message on empathy and equality—such themes are always powerful, especially in speculative fiction. I'm definitely intrigued by the blend of sci-fi, fantasy, and romance here, and I love that it's accessible for both teens and adults. Adding this to my reading list!
"The Last Lumenian" by S.G. Blaise is book One in a thrilling Sci-Fi Fantasy Adventure of a Rebellious Princess, Epic Battles, and Galactic Romance. Teryn warriors are fighting the Archgod of Chaos and Destruction, a.k.a. DLD, the Dark Lord of Destruction. DLD is secretively transforming the inhabitants of several planets into his dark servants, who are doing his fighting for him and are practically impossible to kill. Refugees from these planets have fled and sought protection in Uhna, where they have been forced into camps and abused. The princess of Uhna is a 19-year-old woman named Lilla who is very unhappy with the way her planet is being run. Lilla joins the refugee’s rebellion and is working with a handsome prince named Arrov from the planet A’ice, to save the refugees. She risks her title and her freedom so if she is captured she will be arrested for treason. DLD is now secretly on Uhna and laying plans to take over the planet. Teryns have arrived on the planet to try to forge a coalition with the Uhnans to fight him. Callum, the Teryn General, seems to be drawn to Lilla. I foresee a fight for her love by Callum and Arrov. The only way DLD can be stopped is with the aid of the last Lumenian, who, unknown to her, is Lilla. Will she accept her duty, discover her powers, and control them in time to influence the outcome of the war? I immediately thought about Princess Leia from Star Wars fame. This book is both a science fiction and a romance novel. Several planets with futuristic technologies are involved in this story. Magical abilities flourish with an Archgod, an Archgoddess, mages, healers and shape-shifters. The novel begins with Lilla aboard a space ship captained by Arrov and she suffers a panic attack that imperils their rescue mission. During her panic attack the space ship enters an asteroid field and the ship is being battered by the asteroid fragments, some as large as a mountain. This book does not end with a cliffhanger and most questions are answered but there are a few questions left unanswered that should be resolved in book two. A message present throughout the book is about treating others with respect and not belittling them for being different. Wealthy people look down on the poor and the refugees are considered inconsequential. This book is appropriate for teenagers and adults and the battles will keep readers on the edge of their seats and find it hard to put the book down. This book reads like it is a new chapter of Star Wars. While the characters and planets have different names, the goal is the same. World domination and turn the people into slaves. This was a good sample of this book but the official review gave me a much better understanding of what was going on. Excellent official review. This book reads like it is a new chapter of Star Wars. While the characters and planets have different names, the goal is the same. World domination and turn the people into slaves. The sample was intriguing and I cannot wait to read the remainder of the book.
