What a great give-away for BOTD. I like the aspect that both protagonists are both sometimes the hero, sometimes the weaker character. I appreciate novels with strong female characters so this will go on my to-read list.

Looking at the book's summary, it is clear that the author's book is a complete adventure story. The book also contains love stories, and also contains heroic women, as well as various anxieties, emotions, ...

This sounds like a uniquely different idea, and for that reason your review has captured my attention. It sounds like there is a lot happening throughout the book, and that momentum will hopefully continue into the trilogy. You wrote a wonderful review with all the right points covered. Well done!

What I most like about the description is the mentioning of caves, shorelines and pirates. I am not sure whether this book is for me, though.

An evil tyrant along with enforcers and slave aliens from a distant world are lurking in Elizabethan England. The slaves are tired of the cruelty and ready to strike back. This is an exciting fantasy novel with plenty of drama, twists and turns. The characters are well formed and this is a book that will draw the reader in to its dark and secretive depths. As the reviewer pointed out it does contain violence and adult content so it would not be suitable for young readers.

A science fiction romance blended with historical drama sounds intriguing. Your review was informative and helpful. I will give it a chance. Hopefully the violence and torture won't overwhelm the other aspects of the story.

Since the book pivots between two different characters point of views, I don't know if I will be able to follow along. But the book sure does sound interesting.

This book seems very adventurous and I love it! I also enjoyed how you discussed the characters and their mental illness (depression) and low self-esteem. Great review!
