Love the series. Great stuff but during the second book it can get weird & confusing with the whole Jace/Clary sibling thing. And with who the hell is really Jace's father, it can get confusing that too.
• Also, The Infernal Devices is wonderful too.
Overall, Cassandra Clare is a great author.

I won a "Mortal Instrument" goodie bag with bookmarks, mini posters, and temporary tattoos. The cover art is really beautiful. I haven't read any of them yet. Are they good enough to go out and buy? I liked the Hunger Games, Divergent, Cinder and some of the other popular YA books that were out recently. Let me know what you guys think?

I loved this series. I read all the books from Infernal Devices and Mortal instruments and i thought they were amazing and hard to put down. Everyone I have recommended them to loved them as well. When the last book came out I jumped all over it but I lost interest quickly and put it down and haven't picked it back up again. That's the only problem with reading a series before all the volumes have been published. Sometimes you lose interest in between publications.

This is definitely one of my favourite series. I wish I was lucky enough to win a mortal instruments goodie bag! I honestly can't put the book down, it's such an amazing and imaginative book and I can't wait to read the infernal devices series and I hope that they're just as good

I remember being obsessed with the series when I was middle school. It's a great series and is written well. However, at the time I was also obsessed with the Twilight series, so I would have to read The Mortal Instruments now for better judgment.

TMI is one of my favorite series. That and TID; they're both have really interesting plot lines and amazing character development. It's too bad that these two series don't get as much attention and praise as they deserve.

I read Cassandra Clare's "The Mortal Instrument" series throughout two years. I read her first two books pretty fast. I loved the characters and their interactions with each other. I specifically took a liking to Magnus Bane, who in around the third book became my favorite character. I liked how the characters were real and how they went through normal problems along with their more "un-mundane" issues.
Cassandra Clare has been one of my favorite authors for a while, her books are phenomenal, I took a particular liking to the first three books and the last book. I loved the way her writing flows and the ideas in the stories the small details that created a work of art. Through the series there was a movie playing in my head. The clarity and the work she put into it is crazy.
I did like how most of the characters interacted but I didn't like most of the lack of communication through the series. It seemed like they wouldn't talk to each other in the most difficult times that they most needed communication which became more stressful then anything. I felt like strangling some of the characters in books three through five. I did like the antagonist in the later parts of the book, but I wasn't fond of the antagonist in the earlier books. I felt like there was just not much of a threat in that character, and that he was more like a bug. That may be because of the later antagonist and how he obscured my view on the earlier one. I would have to re-read it.
I do plan on re-reading it. It is one of my favorite series I loved the books and I loved the characters.
