This seems like an interesting fantasy for fans of this genre. As this was book 2 in the series, I liked the summary at the beginning to provide the background for this story. I was glad to find that the links in Kindle would quickly provide the definition of the Hawaiian words. Thanks for a good review on this book.

I particularly appreciate how the author summarized the first narrative in the series before moving on to the second. The storyline and plot of this book are excellent. This book's two main characters are on a mission that in some ways imperils their own lives. I advise anybody to read this book. The author's writing is creative, and I commend her for it. The boy and sister experienced a lot. What a wonderful book.

The incest has me on pause with this book. Also, I believe the author recommending this to college educated people limits the pool of his audience. Then this being a sequel...I make it a rule to never start in the middle of a series. This is a very thorough review, and it gave me a ton of insight on the book.

It is not often to find good book on the subject and outright rare great one, but I believe we hit jackpot with today's BOTD! I always has interest in islanders cultures and folklore, they never were much popularized and mass produced leaving rich layers of spiritual experiences, practices, traditions and beliefs unknown to public. Thank you and congratulations!

Thank you for sharing your experience reading this book and needing to look up some of the words (glad that can be done right in the book!) I’m wondering how well you can jump into the story with only the summary of book 1; it sounds like you felt it was ok.

I think I'll enjoy reading this book. I really appreciate the pronunciation, the word glossary and the summary of the first book. And I haven't encountered a lot of fiction that borrows from Hawaiian cosmology, so I'm curious to see how the author utilizes it. Thanks for the review!

Although this review makes the book sound great, I would have to read the first. It seems like this one cannot be read as a stand alone book.

This is a fantasy book based on Hawaiian Cosmology, I think it's a great story and topic for young children to read, as they will not only learn from another culture but also have a great time doing so.

What a glowing review! I hope Sistah and Boy will be able to complete their quest. This book will be an interesting look into Hawaiian culture as well, so I'm excited to check it out. The "Guide to Pronunciation of the Hawaiian Language" at the beginning of the book is a nice touch.

This sounds like a great sci-fi book for fans of the genre. I am not an avid sci-fi fan so I don't think this book would be for me! I am not thrilled by the marriage of a brother and sister. That is the deciding factor for me as far as not reading the book! Thanks for bringing that part out in the recommendations! Thank you for another great review!

Hawaiian Cosmology, how interesting! I hope I don't have to read book 1 to understand the plot.
