This is a great review and by reading this review it definitely sounds like something I would like to read. Magic and fantasy isn't my favorite books but this one seems like I could get into it because I know all too well that family doesn't not have to be blood. I have a small family blood related. I normally am interested dark magic kinds of stories, but the plot seems a little complicated with all the characters. Maybe I'll take a look at the first book in the series. Nice review, very detailed.
