Good review!
I don't normally read books that fit this description (creepy fantasy?) but I may have to give it a go with this one.
Well done!

Reading the review makes me want to buy both books. i love books about magic and otherworldly things. The really nice thing about BOTD is that you can find a lot of new to you authors.

I added it to my shelf. Reading your review, the book sounds kind of familiar but not exactly. I think I might have read the first book. Good job on the review! I sent it out to Twitter. :D

This is a great review and by reading this review it definitely sounds like something I would like to read. Magic and fantasy isn't my favorite books but this one seems like I could get into it because I know all too well that family doesn't not have to be blood. I have a small family blood related. The majority of my "family" is not by blood. Thanks so much for the this review.

What a great review, this book has two of my favorite things necromancers and zombies. Family doesn't always have to be blood.

I normally am interested dark magic kinds of stories, but the plot seems a little complicated with all the characters. Maybe I'll take a look at the first book in the series. Nice review, very detailed.

Great job on the review! I like the fact that you mention that the author puts a great importance on family and friendship, makes it seem different than other books in the genre.

This sounds like a good book for those who appreciate fantasy novels Unfortunately, that's not me. Nice review, however.

Naïve and stubborn? That's a bad combination!
I would hope she does a lot of growing.

Still sounds interesting though.
