This novel had well-developed characters and a well-developed world without spending an excessive amount of time on any one element. I liked how simple the novel was written. Congrats on BOTD.

Character development in this book is quite an interesting thing, I can completely picture in my mind the levels of authority and then reverence given to each of the titles, it's unique and a new creation. And I also like the fact that the story doesn't center around one character

Your review is very informative, Mayang! I sampled the opening episode where the parents and their toddler daughter were enjoying the Bridgers' Lake and each other's company. Unlike you, I did not feel that the start was slow - I liked the atmospheric narrative. Other than that, I learned from your review that the book will be a political fantasy thriller, and I feel intrigued!

The plot appears to be complex, involving politics in all of its convoluted elements. The sample read is fascinating. I'll need to read a few more chapters before diving in. Appreciate the simplified summary. Thanks.

I really don't like the politics in religion but I really enjoy the stories on such topics. I believe I will enjoy reading this book.
Thanks for the intriguing review!

I admire this review because it is exceptionally comprehensive to what seems an intricate plot that is hard to sum in a few paragraphs. The characters are well-previewed and I can see myself relating to Levine Liston who seeks to challenge the status quo.

I am an avid science fiction reader and this thorough review has intrigued me to read more of the book. I am not into the church or politics in real life however, they make for an interesting read by adding to the intrigue and suspense driving the plot forward. I am also a fan of exceptional worldbuilding and it seems like the author did a great job in this area, too.

"On the Precipice" by Brianna MacMahon describes a story about religious planetary civilization with strife and opposing Christian views that is more political than religious. With several factions living side by side, one must belong to a particular political party to hold the religious title Lord Regent.
Rivalry is rife and is the case between Cyno Banner and Levine Lisbon. Banner, the Lord Reagent of War and Defense believes certain actions by Liston, an Affiliate was a plot to undermine his authority in the Assembly. This book depicts political defiance and betrayal that we often find in the church and government, especially when the church is not separated from politics.

The complex relationships and rivalries among the Lord Regents in Imperium sound fascinating. I'm particularly intrigued by Raelynn's unique position as an Audilla under Levine Liston’s mentorship. Congrats on the botd.

This genre is not what I like to read, so it's difficult for me to judge whether this book is good. However, your review has provided me with a good understanding of its content. Your comment about "The gradual progression and description of events made the world-building feel very familiar" gives me the impression that if I were to read this book, I would find it to be well-written. Thank you for sharing.

An incredible read. Power and Politics. Political and electoral revolutions. Eagerly waiting to explore and learn more about imperialism and the decision that was finally made.
