Good review! I usually try to give this genre a try. Unfortunately this one did not seem to catch my attention and with no definite satisfying closing I think I will pass. I prefer to read series books in order also maybe that would have made better sense of it all.

I did not care for the sample, with the f* word twice right off the bat. I think I'll pass on this one.

The three plotlines interest me, but I feel like it would bother me if they don't all get resolved at least in some matters. I like the interest the author has in developing his characters.

A complex storyline and science fiction is n st my type of read. It is really sad that the author doesn't impress upon the character details. Not for me but I hope the writer improves his writing.

I am not a fan of plots that don't have a proper closure or end. However, the author seems to have created a good premise for this fantasy novel. Good review.

Just reading the title, this book seems like it is part of a series within a series, which feels just a bit too much for me.
Weaving together plot lines is definitely hard, and I don't generally recommend it to people who are still trying to build their readership. William Gibson did it perfectly in Spook Country, but I would never tell anyone who isn't familiar with Gibson to start with that book. You have to learn to trust the author first.

I'm not into books that take place far into the future or aleins so I am going to give this book a pass.

Usually books like this one are right up my alley, but in this particular case I am somewhat discouraged to purchase it by such low average rating. Pity really, storyline in review seemed quite promising, but anyway I will have to decline.

This book starts out interesting, though I was put off by the f-bomb on the first page. After reading the review, I think I'll wait on this book. It seems like a good read but doesn't blend. I have so many books on my list that I don't want one that might leave me wondering what the heck just happened.

I understand your points about the character, plot and editing issues. I am glad that you found the premise interesting though!

Steele Chronicles: Colony Crisis Series: Gathering Forces by Andrew Utsogn is a science fiction novel. I liked the storyline, and I loved the idea of outer world colony. Congratulations on #botd.

Despite some of the shortfalls mentioned in the review, between the disparate plot-lines and the solid space-based science-fiction base, I may have to check this one out.

I'm not a fantasy fiction reader at the best of times, so even if this novel had scored a perfect 4, I probably still wouldn't have read it. The fact that it misses the mark on a few fronts means that there's even less chance of me picking it up. Thanks for an honest review!

Oh, wow, this sounds like such an interesting premise - I'm just sorry that the plotlines were left hanging. This was one that looked interesting to me, but I will think twice about reading it thanks to your cautions. Thank you for your review.

I read the blurb on Amazon, and I did think that the author might have bitten off more than he could chew, i.e., too many characters and not enough word count. It's a pity that you confirmed this for me. I hope that the author takes your suggestions into account and edits the story, as it seems like there is a lot of potential. Thanks for the review!
