This book follows the exploits of Thoral Mighty Fist as he makes his way through the world of Grome. He definitely stands out from the crowd. He is a mighty barbarian warrior who literally stands a head taller than most other humans who dwell in Grome. He also dresses like a pirate. And has a weird foreign accent. And carries a magic sword in his belt next to a plethora of leather and velvet pouches with various interesting items inside. Oh, and he also has a traveling companion. Who rides in one of the pouches. And is a fish. Named Brad. Who talks. And breathes air. See, Thoral is not your typical guy.
That's hilarious :lol2: . It's not the typical fantasy book for sure, but I rarely read typical fantasy books. You captured the silly spirit of this work perfectly.

Fantasy combined with farce makes quite a compelling read. I love using personification; allowing animals to communicate with humans and using a fish as a primary character is pure brilliance. Though overly extensive with vocabulary use and wordplay, the story is fascinating. Thank you for writing a detailed and compelling review.

As someone who has read a lot of parodies from Harvard Lampoon in my younger years, this new tale by J.R.R.R. Hardison looks like a mighty fun read for much older me.

I enjoyed the start of the book, where 3 attackers all get accidentally killed when attempting to kill our hero. It sounds like a lot of fun and adventure.

Thank you for the excellent review.

One of the best fantasy takes to read to grandkids. I enjoyed it and am sure when I get children I will read it to them 😄

Fish Wielder is an epic fantasy novel with a silly sense of humor. The story follows Thoral Might Fist, a depressed barbarian warrior, and his best friend, Brad the talking Koi fish, as they try to save the world of Grome from destruction. Along the way, they encounter a cast of eccentric characters, battle fearsome monsters, and use magic and mayhem to avert disaster.

The novel is full of laugh-out-loud moments, but it also has a heart. Thoral and Brad are both sympathetic characters, and their friendship is one of the book's strengths. The supporting cast is also well-developed, and the world of Grome is brought to life with vivid detail.

i really appreciated reding it and I recommend it to all who love epic stories.

This sounds like my new type of genre. I think fantasy is a way to temporarily escape from the "real world" and to take a much needed break. Humor is a reminder to not take everything so seriously and to have fun. The combination of the two seems like a perfect match! I can't wait to continue this adventure and join Thoral and Brad in their quest.

Thank you for the thoughtful review, but the genre isn't quite my preference. Still, I appreciate the effort you put into it!

What an interesting concept! From the opening chapter, this seems to give the impression of a handful of Douglas Adams mixed into a bowl of J.R.R. Tolkien. Definitely sounds unique!

Overall, your review did a great job describing this wonderful book! You gave just enough of the storyline to keep the reader interested, yet left out just enough to make them want to find out more. I cannot wait to find out what happens to Thoral, Brad and the Pudding Fellowship! It sounds like this will be a bit of fresh air compared to the typical Sci-Fi/Fantasy novel. And, I love how you included the disclaimer for the ones that take Sci-Fi/Fantasy "seriously." Excellent job on writing a great review!
