Many fantasy writers neglect to provide accurate and thorough maps to help guide the story, but the author of this work has done so. In addition, I was rather intrigued by the plot after reading your description!

My daughter loves anything pertaining to magic but as the review suggests this book is inappropriate for children. May be I will read the book and tell her the story leaving out the violent episodes. A nice review. Congrats on BOTD.

Is Delvin, who is enthralled by magic, responsible for the death of Borlock, the person who is teaching him magic? What draws him into the war and his role in the war, makes for an intriguing plot. The reviewer conducts an in-depth examination. The readers of this genre will surely enjoy reading this one. Congratulations on winning BOTD!

The review of "The Magician's Secret" praises the compelling start, quick pace, and detailed descriptions of various settings. The reviewer appreciates the characterization, particularly highlighting Princess Jarla's strong and fearless portrayal. However, a desire for more detailed descriptions of the characters' appearances is expressed. Despite this, the overall experience is positive, resulting in a 4-star rating for an enjoyable read with exceptional editing. Recommended for young adults who enjoy adventurous books.

What could have happened between Delvin and Magician Borlock as the seemed to have a good relationship. I would love to find out the person or reason for him being unconscious.

"The Magician's Secret" by Charles Townsend. An interesting adventure book, talks about Delvin who has been captivated by magic ever since he learnt it from Magician Borlock, teaching him some magic tricks. This book is must read for me, reading about Princess Jarla and Fionella going to war with Delvin. Congrats on your #BOTD.

The moment I opened the first chapter, I was drawn in and wanted to read more. You are thrown into the plot at a fast pace in the first chapter. You have a lot of questions because things are occurring so quickly. You consequently find yourself jumping right into chapter 2. Because of this, I think Townsend has done an excellent job establishing the story.

I was able to learn more about the characters because the plot developed at a fair pace. Townsend has done a fantastic job of explaining each location, which is necessary because the book has many diverse sites. Beginning the book with additional maps and building layouts was also beneficial.

Hello Ria, you did a great review ofThe Magician's Secret. I just read the first chapter before reading your review. I agree with you. I can't wait to read the second chapter. It is interesting that even without discriptions of the characters physical traits you were able to maintain your interest in the story. This speaks to the author's ability to write a great plot while leaving it to the reader's imagination to discern what the characters look like. I am interested to read about Princess Jarla. I have always been impressed by strong willed women. I must congratulate you as I found your review to be very informative without being too wordy. You use your words efficiently.

Is "The Magician's Secret (Illusions of Power Book 1)" truly the first book in the series? The sudden onset of intense action, with Delvin accused of murdering his friend, left me with doubts. I found myself double-checking multiple times to ensure its designation as the inaugural instalment.
I believe in something greater than myself.

I love a good magic book. It takes you from the real world and plunges you into an imaginary world where anything's possible. I love the review because it is quite expository and makes me want to read this book. Good job!

Hi there! 🌟 Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts on "The Magician's Secret" by Charles Townsend! It's awesome to hear that the first chapter hooked you right away – I love a story that keeps me turning the pages. The pacing and detailed descriptions of different places really added to the overall experience. It's great that Princess Jarla stood out as a strong and inspiring character, especially in a setting where gender norms are challenged. Your point about wanting more details on the characters' appearances is noted, but I'm glad it didn't overshadow your enjoyment of the book. A solid 4 out of 4 stars and a smooth reading experience with no mistakes is fantastic! Your recommendation for young adults seeking adventure is spot on. Happy reading! 📚✨

I'm captivated by the fascinating plot of this story. From what I can tell, I don't believe that Delvin is responsible for Borlock's death. This narrative has piqued my curiosity, and I'm eager to delve deeper into it. As someone who loves tales of magic, I'm a complete sucker for this kind of story.

The idea of intrigue woven into the story sounds very interesting. I'm not a huge sci-fi fan but this book has other aspects, e.g., the attack on Borlock and a woman standing up for herself in a man's world. Thank you for the great review.

The writer make excellent use of descriptive prose to paint a clear picture as the journey progresses from incident to incident along the route of travel. It allows the reader to.immerse themselves within the story.
