'Official Review: SKELLING: The Tales of Conor Archer, Vol 2' by E. R. Barr is a repertoire of information for avid readers. It has an informative introduction. Conor and his companions are the primary players in a game where the fate of humanity hangs in the balance. The book is based on folklore. This story educates the reader on Irish culture. I liked the ending to the review!

Alas, I am not familiar with the prequel, so reading Skellig doesn't feel like reuniting with an old friend. Celtic myths are pretty novel to me, though, so I can't wait to read it til the end.
I write the best reviews possible. :idea2:

Thank you for your review. I read the sample. Conor Archer has webbed hands, and that means he is from a fantasy Irish long ago people. He is hidden in Wisconsin with her Aunt and he comes out of hiding and flies back to Ireland to live with his godmother. He has enemies to battle with and there are fantasy people in the shadows that protect and fight along with him. Although he is now a teenager, his destiny is to be King.

Conor's story is an interesting one which I have just read the sample on Amazon Kindle and I'm quite intrigued by the characters in it. Most certainly, I'm thrilled by the shape-shifting abilities of Conor and the other Roans in the book. Not to mention the magic of the underwater creatures which keeps Conor's tragic past even more intriguing and makes me want to know why he is even a Roan to begin with.

Very thorough review, nice job. I do not like reading books out of sequence but after reading the sample and review, I think I would like to read Roan first. I like fantasy stories and the reviewer said the first book hit on Native American folklore and in this second book on Celtics lore, I am all in for both. Congrats on BOTD.

After reading your review, I certainly am curious. I missed the first book in the series. Though this one can be read as a standalone, I prefer to start off from the beginning. You certainly have loved the book. My only reference to the Percy Jackson series is that I had to pick every book for my daughter. I have never read them though. The sample read was good. Thank you for your engaging review!

"Mr. Barr has an incredible wealth of knowledge not only about the legendary history of the Irish people but how it is intertwined with Western Christian faiths. As such, I believe my favorite aspect of Barr’s style is his ability to explain these unfamiliar stories and legends through compelling narrative and dialogue without making the story seem like a lecture on myth and religion." -I believe that is my favorite aspect too. Thank you for a most compelling review.

"SKELLIG: The Tales Of Conor Archer, vol. 2" by E. R. Barr is the gripping sequel to "Roan", the author’s debut novel. Picking up immediately after the events of the first book, "SKELLIG" follows Conor and his companions as they face ancient evils, risking everything to protect humanity. Steeped in Irish and Celtic mythology, the story weaves legendary history with elements of Western Christian traditions.
Fast-paced and rich in detail, the novel offers a compelling narrative infused with deep knowledge of Irish lore and history.

I love how the author wrapped me up in a nice warm blanket on a cold night, cozy and just waiting for the next twist and turn. I really could see and understand what the author was saying. Very well done. Just love that a biker turns into a seal. That was pretty neat.

Urban fantasy was never one of my favorite genres, but this series is worth being an exception. The reason is my one true love - history, in any shape and form, including legends, myths and folklore. Since this series heavily leans on them, I will read it.
