I’m not a fan of dystopian novels, but your review was very thorough and honest. I’ll probably pass on this one, but thanks!

A historical story of Aerietta Elony, the Queen of Crimson looks a good start of Afterlight Chronicles. Good review, inspired me to read Crown of Crimson in full.

This is just not my kind of book - maybe it's my age? I can only take so much fantasy and then I need some realistic reading. You did a great job on the review, though!

She is a reputable assassin but ends up having a weakness... Hmmm, that sounds great but the chosen weakness i.e easily manipulated and the likes, isn't complimenting her as an assassin trained to kill from birth. Apart from that, it's got an engaging plot. I'm definitely reading this book.

Fantasy stories are not my kind of thing, but I find the book unique because it's self-published book that's well-written and well-edited. Additionally, Aerietta's story sounds appealing. I will give the book a try. Congratulations on being the BOTD.

A nice fantasy novel "Crown of Crimson (The Afterlight Chronicles Book 1)" by Rose Reid, which follows the Queen of Crimson, Aerietta Elony, who has earned a reputation as one of the best assassins in Lydovier. The book having the setting in a world at war with a mix of magic makes it quite entertaining.
life is only knowing the unknown, we can do this by reading books easily- Online book club is a great place for this. This is what I believe.

First of all i would like to thank the author for the free ebook. I rarely read fantasy novels but i would give this a chance.

I usually find that the protagonist in this genre were mostly female heroine. Brave , fearless but soft & confused when love & affection ( real or lie) appears in front of them. I think that's the reviewer found her frustrations.

Nice review though!

This book sounds magical and coupled with the inconsistencies in the characterization of the queen makes it more repelling for my liking. Thanks for your detailed review.

The sampling I read has me intrigued about this book! I love this genre, and always love when female characters are characterized as strong, independent women. I agree that the two traits, strong assassin and naive girl, are contradictory. Hopefully throughout the series she grows out of her naivety. Great review!

Sounds like a magical realm where the protagonist is still developing her skills and relationships with men. Perhaps her weaknesses as you described will tbe developed in future books?

The book seems so intriguing! The female protagonist is of greatest interest. The concept of tattoo of bloody roses as a conception of soon is very deep and thorough concept. I'll definitely read this book and recommend others too!

Despite not following some of the review guidelines, I like how the reviewer unmask what he did not feel in the book was not correct to him. Amazing job there.

I definitely understand your irritation at the disparity between her being a trained assassin, yet killing no one. That seems odd. Still, if you enjoy this genre, it sounds like a fabulous read. I think I'll skip it. Thanks.
