Expedition to zona in the book forbidden land piques my interest due to the many mysteries and adventures. Grants journey is not easy. The flow of the book is amazing and I appreciate the honest review.

I like the idea of dangerous and mysterious zone being explored. And seems like there are some supernatural elements? Idk if I would like the alcohol and free sex parts but since the review got 4/4 despite that I guess it wasn't too bad. Thanks for the review.

The team encountered a lot of problems along the way and struggled to survive and people died from wild animal attacks and complications. Some of the animals were extremely large and vicious. Therefore
In real life Volkov will not be at peace because there will be alot of questions for him to answer with the reason mentioned " Volkov was the only person to escape from the last expedition alive"above. How did he do it?, Curiousity!!. The story is deep and wants to read more.

This reminded me of the film Journey: the Mysterious Island when I read the your intro, and then I didn't see the darker theme of this book coming right in the middle of your review.

The sample narrative in this book was descriptive. I liked the way the author described the house, rooms and some of the contents as well as describing Grant's Uncle Randall, making it easy for the reader to imagine this was the home of a scientific explorer. While this looks like it could be a good story in many ways, I will pass on this one. The overuse of alcohol would be irritating to me, as well as other elements that seem irrelevant to the story.

Sounds like an intriguing adventure. Thanks for the detailed review. Congrats on BOTD! Although I am not looking forwards to the parts about overdrinking. Always leads to bad choices and regrets.

This is a unique and creative plot with interesting characters. I enjoyed the adventure and the descriptive writing. I did not like the excessive drinking and the flagrant sexual activity when they were living in Zona. Thank you for the thorough summary and honest opinions in your book review.

I enjoyed reading Zona the Forbidden Land. The strange enormous wild animals intrigued me and I was able to picture them nicely in my head. Hoping to read the sequel soon. Thanks for a great review.

This fiction book is full of adventure and had a sense of mystery as it deals with a missing person after going on an expedition to Zona. The author does an admirable job at explaining and describing the setting. I wonder if Grant was able to find his missing uncle. Congrats on the BOTD!

Although it don’t typically enjoy violence or sexual conduct in my reading material, I cannot resist the adventure this book promises! Siberia is an unforgiving place, and this novel is sure to keep me on the edge of my seat!

I really enjoyed your review, the honesty with which you mentioned your sensations while reading the book. I also liked the novel, the sample made me want to read more about the adventure in the Zona. However, the Russian names chosen are too...taken from literature and classical music.
