Yup, not into political stories! I'm going to pass this one. But congratulations to the author on the BOTD!

I appreciate that the characters were dimensional; however, the preachy feeling surrounding the political discussion makes me want to avoid the book – I hope that it was at least well-researched. Thanks for the review!

Today's SciFi BOTD is not one I would normally choose, but after reading your review, I've added it to my WTR list. I like that other genres are included in this read and that it's told from the POV of the grandson. Interesting perspective! Thank you so much!

The book appears to be within my wheelhouse of interest, however, I don't think that I'll be reading it due to the political preachiness. Still, congratulations to the author for being awarded BOTD.

Thanks for the review. Corruption is exposed on the self serving government. The love story of citizen A and Elf is interesting. I appreciate the book.

I am not usually a fan of sci-fi and one with preachy politics is unappealing to me. However, I appreciate your interesting review.

A story that covers the futuristic aspect of the implantation of a chip of knowledge. It is set in the year 2100 in a city of five million people, whose democratically elected government has become corrupt and selfish. It has romance, politics, and touches of sci-fi.

With as much as this book seems like a captivating science fiction and romance genre, I will overlook it for now. Science fiction hasn't been my favorite genre. Congratulations to the author on BOTD

"The chip of knowledge" by Vaggelis Kaliosis - Interesting narrative, immediately drawing the reader into the story and making a strong connection. I will add this to my reading list. Thanks for the informative review.

Despite the unoriginal concept, I feel the romance concept was a bit overdone for this book. Thanks for the great review!

A parable set in the future! Good science fiction almost always has a message which is either political, or societal. Scientific innovation is no longer the main message, and I do not believe that it ever was. I also prefer stories of the future set in the near future and not the distant future. I believe that trying to predict the distant future is as accurate as writing fantasy, because the past has shown us how this is simply not possible. I believe that this book has made an accurate attempt for the next century, and it certainly seems to contain an interesting romantic story line, and I am sure that there are other elements included as well. I will be interested to find out what happens to Citizen A, to Elf, and also to Citizen B. Your review was nicely written and fun to read.

The book sounds like it has an interesting premise, but I think the names would get old rather quickly (Citizen A, Citizen B, etc.). As you said the ending was also disappointing, I might give this one a pass. Thanks for a great review.
