"Battlefield Earth: A Saga of the Year 3000" by L. Ron Hubbard is a classic science fiction story that narrates the war between The Psychlos, an alien race inhabiting Earth, and the few men they left behind. Who will be victorious, the ruthless Psychlos or Jonnie and the remnant? Fans of classical sci-fi stories will love this book. Thanks for the insightful review.

I'm sorry, I really need to know who is submitting an L. Ron Hubbard book for official reviews on OBC? I thought L. Ron Hubbard passed away years ago?

I love science fiction, and "Battlefield Earth" sounds captivating with its mix of hard sci-fi, adventure, and alien dynamics. The concept of Psychlos mining Earth and Jonnie's fight for humanity is intriguing. I'm definitely adding this to my reading list. Congrats on BOTD!

Battlefield Earth by L. Ron Hubbard is a book filled with action, adventure, and a touch of humour. Hubbard creates a world with detailed descriptions of the Psychlo society and technology. It is a must reed for the fans of this genre.

I appreciated the reviewer's excitement and descriptive statements. I am still iffy about supporting L. Ron Hubbard's estate, but I am relieved to know that Scientology does not play a part in the "tome." I may check it out from the library.

Thank you for your informative review. I'm glad that you enjoyed the book. That is a long book! This isn't one for me, but I hope many others will enjoy it. It's nice that after so many years it was rereleased.

Seems like a good mix of dystopia and science-fiction. I wonder how it ends. Congratulations on the Book of the Day. Great OBC review.

A 1000 pages book does need a very interesting twist and turns to keep the reader going. From the enthusiastic review of the reader though, with her even downloading the e-book, I think it worked pretty well.

I do love a good science fiction WITH a strong female character. So, I'm glad she mentioned that the book doesn't have any saving my time into reading a book with one.

Among humans there is a different type Jonnie, a brave one who is not willing to accept that this is life forever. While the Psychlos are doing their thing as intergalactic miners, one of them, a certain Terl, has the brilliant idea of using humans to have some fun. What he doesn't know is that this opens the door for Jonnie to organize something big.

I'm usually one who passes on books that evolve around this dystopia where earth is inhabited with aliens, but it's something about this one that's different. The fact that these humans, by a lucky chance, are able to fight back against these aliens is a nice surprise. Congrats to the author for having the BOTD.

A book comprising 1000 pages plus a free additional download, a fast-paced novel with a well-defined hero sounds like good value for money. I find it disappointing that most science fiction novels depict war, the destruction of the human race bar a few people and their struggle against the invading aliens. Why can't the aliens be good guys, bring advanced technology, the cure for terrible diseases like Alzheimers and cancer and other amazing things to Earth? Thank you for your informative review.
