Kim was labeled a traitor after making love to Shan, which was against the law, and was sent to District 33, a harsh and demeaning neighborhood filled with thugs, thieves, and others. Kim entered a world she was unfamiliar with, unprepared for whatever this new neighborhood had in store for her. Kim was constantly watched by the director, who appeared dissatisfied with her defiance. She meets new people, makes new enemies, and does everything she can to survive.

This book sounds very interesting! Although I am usually not a fan of the sci-fi genre, this review as well as the subsequent replies ave wetted my appetite for this book. I am intrigued as to why the author would call a "he" a "her" throughout the book. Kudos to you upon this very well written review!

There’s plenty of action, and loads of human drama: from Kim’s determined pursuit to regain her life to Len and the group’s relentless struggle for domination. Readers will be kept off balance throughout, and the relentless plot twists make for a satisfyingly

The Prophecy of the Heron . An interesting book highly rated a 5 out of 5. It would be fascinating to know where Shan went and how Kim survive. By Craig W. Stanfill.

The way how Kim survives in the District 33 intrigues me. Also, I would like to know more about the AIs, how do they function and what role do they play in the story. Great review, will definitely add this on my bookshelf

What an amazing cover page! The author must be a genius thinker. Even before reading a single page of it, the title alongside the images featuring on the cover page is already a drive to reading it soon.

The summary provided describes a story about a character named Kim who is exiled to a harsh neighborhood called District 33 for breaking a law against making love to a person named Shan. In this new environment, she struggles to survive and find her way while being constantly watched by the Director. She gets a job as a pedicab driver and tries to find Shan, who has gone missing. Along the way, she meets new people, makes enemies, and uncovers a conspiracy involving the Artificial Intelligence Center. The story is divided into three parts: Exile, Shadows, and Maelstrom, each representing different stages in her journey. The summary suggests that the book is a science-fiction, romance and fantasy novel, with themes of survival and resistance against oppression.

I recently read this book and found it to be thought-provoking and philosophical in nature. The concept of a library and AI controlling people's thoughts was intriguing, however, I was left feeling frustrated by not being able to determine the gender of a character named Kim. Additionally, the time jumps near the end of the book were somewhat confusing. The book explores the blurred lines between right and wrong.

The book is that captivating to read, this is great! I enjoyed how action-packed it was! From start to finish, the action never stops! I find it amazing how the author was able to keep the action moving throughout. Excellent work! There is little doubt that this sequel improves upon the first. The review is quite interesting, I'll add it to my bookshelf.

I am listening to this book's Audible narration now - brilliant, by the way, and I mostly agree with the reviewer - the book is captivating and the story is well told. Having previously read the prequel, Terms of Service, I could not wait to find out what happens next to Kim, Shan, and Kimberly, and I am enjoying this book thoroughly.

I dare to disagree with the reviewer about the use of "she/her" even for male characters - I think it is a very useful tool the author skillfully uses to project the message that Kim's world is crippled and dissonant - as much as the use of "she/her" in the translation from Panglobal is for us, readers.

Now I am at that point in the book where District 33 starts getting over-populated and I am wondering whether the UCE Order will be eventually overturned by the outcasts... Great read!
