"Always Carry Your Scythe" by Pip Paisley is a book dominated by supernatural beings like pixies and vampires. Two agents of the Angel Investigative Bureau approach Trixie in search of her mother, Death. I like how thought out the character Trixie is.

The strained relationship between Trixie and her family, especially Death, adds emotional complexity to the story. It explores themes of family loyalty, rebellion, and forgiveness in a fresh and relatable way.

Your review resonates with me, Isaac! Sampling, I instantly took to Trixie as she was waitressing at Quandors in her elf-made shoes and holding fort against the clientele demanding Ruby Raptures for recreational vamping. I fully agree that the world-building is extraordinary. I am yet to read about Trixie's rescue mission in hell, and look forward to it!

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting fantasy story about the daughter of Death who enters a game show in hopes of finding her mother but ends up in Hell. Will she escape Hell? Will she find her mother? It might be worth a second look. Well done.

Thanks for the detailed review of "Always Carry Your Scythe." Your insights into the world-building and character development have piqued my interest. It’s refreshing to hear about a fantasy novel that offers more than the usual tropes, especially with such a strong protagonist like Trixie. The theme of friendship sounds particularly compelling.

Great review! It was descriptive and honest. I'm not a fan of fantasy novels, but this one seems to be a good one. I think that I will pass on it and leave it to the fantasy fans.

The review is very well-written and informative. In particular, that you described the author's writing style and world-building. I can see how much you enjoyed this book and it makes me want to read it too so I can share your enthusiasm. I love fantasy books and a book about DEATH‘S DAUGHTER and an investigative bureau of ANGELS? AMAZING :techie-reference:
