Considering I'm not a fan of fantasy, I do like the Harry Potter books. The hype that surrounded them made it even more exciting waiting for the next one to come out! They've done a fantastic job getting children interested in reading as well. I wasn't a fan of the "romance" in the books, though - I would say that's Rowling's weak spot.

I love the harry potter series! I really liked the movies and the books. I've read each book multiple times. My favorite books are the last two. I didn't really like how much darker the books got toward the end, but it totally fit into the story and made me love the characters all the more.

I started reading the Harry Potter books when they first came out. I, an adult, was riveted and had to have the next book whenever it came out. I liked seeing the child grow to a man. The book was amazing because the author had a huge imagination creating an entire world out of nothing. My favorite character was not Harry Potter but rather Professor Snape. You never knew even to the end of the series if he was a good guy or a bad guy. The episode where Harry saw him as a teenager harassed by the other teens was telling. He was bullied and grew up to be a professor in the same place he too had learned. What part of J.R. Rowling was Professor Snape? My favorite book was the Socerer's Stone. Out of now where he gets a visit from Hagrid and leaves a perfectly awful family to study at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. With this book, Harry makes his friends and becomes a Quidditch player.

This is definitely one of my favourite series of all time. Rowling creates such a complex world and makes it seem real. Her attention to detail is fantastic and makes these books so easy and enjoyable to read over and over again.

I really enjoyed the Harry Potter series. The friendship themes, as well as the brilliant dynamic between the characters, created a realistic world amidst a magical arena. This is a spectacular achievement that J.K Rowling has accomplished.

J.K Rowling created a world in which readers will get lost in time and time again. Each book in the series is one that when you finish, you feel like the characters have become a part of you, and feel lost when you realize that they remain in the pages. I think this is the reason why the movies and the theme park have done so well because they have created something that every reader wished they could have.

Harry Potter is a series unlike any other in fan following and dedication. I grew up with these books. I was around ten when I started reading them and it was like growing up with Harry. I had recreated Hogwarts letters, spell books, I made wands. I loved these books, and best of all, the chats with Dumbledore. They are so very imaginative, and the experience of waiting for the next book to come out, or even the movies, was half the fun. I went to midnight parties for as many books as I could and every movie after the 4th and I made so many friends through the fun of Harry Potter.

I have mixed feelings with the series.

The first books were nice. Just episodic adventures targeted at a very specific audience. They contained an interesting concept and interesting enough plots. However, at some point, the series started taking another narrative style, more adult and mature. I suppose this could only be an attempt to reach a bigger market share. It does not matter, as around the fourth or fifth book, the feeling of the series changes.

It is a pity, because to me, it always felt as if they were trying to turn teenager literature into mature epic fantasy. The problem is, that when applying epic fantasy standards, the series fall short. I mostly read the last books only because of sheer willpower and the desire to know how it all would end. I was very, very disappointed with the last book. I know of people who liked the change of style and says the first books are awful and the latest great. I am glad they like them, but Harry Potter was killed for me.

I remember when I first started reading Harry Potter. My older brother started collected them, and I would sneak into his room just to read them. After about the fifth book, I stole my brother's copies and read them at least once a year. I have tons of in-depth conversations about the different aspects of Harry Potter. We even quote the series in the middle of our conversations! Harry Potter will never die.

I love the book series...I only wish I had started reading them sooner. I didn't get into them until right around when the 6th book was released. My favorite books are The Prisoner of Azkaban (Sirius Black is my favorite character) and oddly enough The Order of the Phoenix. I know Phoenix isn't a usual choice but there was something about the way JK Rowling invoked Harry's anger in that book and made me feel exactly the way Harry felt. I just felt very in tune with his character in that book. Anyway I am very excited to share the experience with my daughter when she is old enough.

The Harry Potter series is a wonderful series. These books go deeper than just a fiction book. And that is also what makes them so fun cause you can take it in deep, or just indulge in them like a roller coaster ride. After all, in The Goblet of Fire (the book) Harry's wand when it is weighed tells a magical secret...(Cheers!)...
