Re: Official Review: Immortal' Requiem by Vincent Bobbe
I imagined I would read something beautiful through its cover
And my imagination was true
But I think that there are some mistakes.
Thanks for an amazing review.

Your sheer unbridled joy, has me wanting to read this book as soon as humanly possible like am missing out on one of lifes greatest treasures.
Of course, it being a fantasy trope very much in Tolkien's style helps whet the appetite.
Fantastic review

Also, you wrote in your review how Cu Roi, the evil dude, was a product of two different races- and this really made me think of how, somehow, most of the powerful entities in our folk tales and popular imaginations are the offsprings of two different communities/races/species, etc. Whether it be heroes or villains, they are born through the union of differences (Gods and humans, humans and demons, etc.) Such a narrative, to my mind, re-inforces a very fatalist idea of how people are just born special, or with a certain destiny, for it is in a way an attempt to justify the great strength or special powers of a certain character, by setting even his/her birth apart from what is normal. Now I am not saying that this is wrong. However, we shouldn't always have to justify the special powers of all our important characters through a special birth story. I do feel that we need more stories with heroes and evil beings who rose from normalcy to become heroes and evil beings simply because they decided to be so through their own actions, and not because they were destined to be special through specific conditions of their birth or anything.
Anyways, the book sounds to be super interesting and I am really excited to read it. Thanks again for your beautiful review!
