Am really looking forward to the comical part of the story. I like to see how it turns out in a serious fantasy tale full of action.

I don't think I've ever been so attracted to a book from the review alone as I have with this one. I even love that made up genre of farctasy. Sometimes fantasy novels can seem so, well, fantastic, that it is just been begging to have a farcical book fall within it. The main character The main character hear sounds absolutely fantastic and equally parts barbaric and ridiculous.

I rarely read fantasy books these days, but I adore parodies and this farcical book sounds right up my alley. Just reading the characters' names has me chuckling. And the thought of a talking fish with such a plain name as Brad is too funny! Thanks so much for the awesome review; this book is definitely going on my "Must Read" list!

This...sounds...amazing! Like a good set-up for a light-hearted D&D campaign. Your review made me even more excited to check this one out. I am a fan of both fantasy and comedy, so it will definitely be added to my 'to-read' list. Thanks for the review.

Wow, I just read your review and I am surprised by how different views on the same story can be. I read the book as well and I actually didn't like it because I felt negatively overwhelmed by the farce and the silliness when I expected a "High Fantasy" novel, written like "Lord of the Rings", but set in "Narnia" (both books I really, really loved). Consequentially, it's necessary for me to admit that I went into the read with really high expectations. But even when I realized this was a different story, I couldn't get myself to thoroughly enjoy the book.
On the other hand, I can imagine that this story would've had a completely different effect on me had it actually been a comic, with good drawings instead of the text format (which I initially expected because of the cover art). All in all, my rating 2 out of 4 wasn't so far off since you and others obviously liked it.

So I am really picky about fantasy books and this one did not jump out at me based on plot but the review of it seems so positive that I may have to give it a try.

I love the way you describe Brad and Thoral in your review. This is not typically my kind of book but I read the sample and the author describes things in such a thorough and hilarious manner. I can definitely see this one providing continuous laugh out loud moments. I liken it to the show Galavant, which was also a farce. I'm sure this will be an enjoyable read for those who appreciate that certain type of humor.

 I really enjoyed reading the except of the "Fish Wielder". The author got my attention when the Koi walked into the bar! This writing is a blend of farce and fantasy with a definite tongue in cheek approach. I look forward to reading the entire book.

This definitely sounds like a book I need to add to my list of books to read this year. It sounds fantastic.

The plot does seem to be similar to "The Lord of the Ring" but it appears to be the funny version of it which will still be interesting to read. Besides I want to see how "it combines the ludicrous working in conjunction with the expected action and adventure one would anticipate to find in such a story".

An air-breathing, pouch-living talking fish? Strange things happen. I'm so in, especially because I imagine some kind of Medusa look-alike as the Heartless One. I don't know why I have that image in my head though. Plus it's farce and fantasy combined! This review's certainly sparked my curiosity!

:) I think it is great that this author did something different. I don't think fantasy novels have been very original lately, and this work seems different. The sample was a little silly for me, but fun, nonetheless. I think you did a great job reviewing this book with an open-mind. It certainly isn't for everyone, but that does not discount the quality. Thanks for the thorough review.
