I was not able to read much further than the Prologue due to its use of graphic violence; however, I applaud the author's talent in describing a scene in such detail. Thank you for this detailed review! I do not think that I will finish reading this because I don't typically enjoy reading supernatural horror stories and the grammatical errors were quite bothersome, but I will keep this author in mind (Some Guy is such a really appealing pseudonym)!!

review of "The Wall" by Some Guy.]
Book Cover

Some Guy's book, The Wall, Guardian's Redemption, does feature the latter, though not as much as you would think. In this sc-fi/fantasy book, five members of an elite special ops team face a variety of tense, high-stakes situations, including providing security for President Jonathan “JR” Rothchild's wife and two children during the unveiling of the highly anticipated wall. This ceremony, of course, ends up going awry, thereby setting off a chain of events that eventually lead to the book's inevitable climax.

Led by Forge "Gunns" Qaletaqa, the Wrecking Crew, consisting of Thurston "Scorpio" Wong, Ollie "Terminator" McDonald, Noam "Bananas" Dylan, and Desmond "DMoney" Jackson, faces demons both spectral and mental. Gunns in particular suffers a crisis of conscience, rethinking the way he has done things and led his crew before an integral part of the tome causes him to look inward. Ultimately, this book is as much about redemption as it is about "catching the bad guys".

The book has less pictures for the background to give vivid description on the story nevertheless it a great book with lot of suspense ..well listed character and an interesting storyline

I would like to rate these book 2 out of 4 stars having noticed some grammar mistakes like "the girl creaming"

From the cover, I was sure that this was going to be a full-blown graphic novel, but more of an illustrated novel seems to be the case. I love the brothers-in-arms style inherent in books like these and a fully buy into the action that comes along with them. At 89 pages, it sounds like an excellent addition to my TBR shelf. Thanks for the review.

I love graphic novels/illustrated books usually and the fact that you've mentioned the character development is sustained and well done has made me even more interested in this. Thanks for the great review!

I thought I am the only one who is amused at the two statements. The review is well done with a good command of language.

I liked your review but I didn't enjoy the sample one bit. Sure, its dialogues are well constructed but to me, it was like watching a senseless action-packed movie without much depth. Not my kind of book I suppose. Different strokes for different folks.

I’m not interested in supernatural or horror, so I’ll pass on this one.

It is nice to learn that the language use in the book was simple but not that elementary which will make reading easier and also can be read by the juniors as well. The review is well done with a good command of language. I enjoyed reading it a lot. This is a book that lovers of this genre will mst certainly enjoy reading.

I am sorry to say I have read the sample and I did not like the book at all. I do not appreciate the author's marketing strategy, the topic he has chosen or his writing style. Your review definitely makes the book seem a lot more than it actually is.

Sci Fi fantasy genre is one of my favourites ,the aspects of horror/supernatural definitely attract me to this book. The story sounds action packed and because it is a short read,it makes it all the interesting for me .You have done such a great review of the book. :tiphat:

I love a good sci-fi fantasy read and any stories that has to do with the supernatural always gets my attention. Man's conscience, spirituality, moral code and more seems interesting. But who is this "Some Guy", am curious.

This sounds like a pretty intense, suspensful and engaging read. I like the fact that the author describes in the book not only the battles with the supernatural but also pays attention to the characters as well making them nore believable by portraying them as ordinary people with their idiosyncrasies like stuttering and chewing toothpicks. It will be interesting to read this book. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

This sounds like an interesting read - working for the POTUS and facing supernatural entities? It's great to hear that the team fought well against the supernatural entities. Also, I like how the author gives little idiosyncrasies to his characters and that they felt like real people. I'm not a big fan of illustrated works that are not specifically children's books. Also, I don't care too much of vulgar language or graphic violence, so I think I'll pass. I'm glad that you were able to enjoy some aspects of this read, though. Thank you for the insightful review!

Well what can I say. It's just not my kind of book to read. I am going to pass on this one. Sampled the book and it doesn't appeal to my likes. The review secunds my decision.
