Thanks for the review. I find it interesting that the author named her kids after the LotR characters! I know that many people enjoy that series, I myself have never followed it, but to name children after it is definitely unique! The problems you pointed out did not seem to be major issues and I am glad that you did not take away any stars for this review.

Not a big fantasy fan, but Duende's comparison to the Narnia tales intrigued me, so I may check this one out! Good, comprehensive review!

Incredibly honest and insightful review. This isn't a genre a would frequent but your positive words have made me want to at least begin and sample this book.

Okay, you've got me interested. Thank you for noting the gender roles (as well as the dragons)!

At first glance, I thought this would just be a typical fantasy story. But after reading your intensive review, I am very much convinced that this is not just like any other mythical, kingdom war with dragons tale. Thanks for the great review!

I think it is very difficult to get high praise for fantasy novels, as the stories are always so complex. I loved this review because it outlines everything in detail and your passion for the book comes through. I'm looking forward to reading this one.
