Great review on the book, "The Magic Lantern" by Charles Townsend. It gives the reflection of first and second books and somehow seems like a continuation. Lesson learnt is 'never give up' from Delvin and his friends. I love the book

This review beautifully encapsulates the essence of "The Magic Lantern" and its enthralling journey. I share your admiration for Townsend's adept storytelling and seamless pacing, which truly keeps readers hooked from start to finish. Your insight into the character development and the subtle message of perseverance adds depth to the narrative. While I understand your desire for more exploration of secondary characters, I believe the focus on Delvin's journey serves to intensify the central storyline. Your thorough analysis makes a compelling case for readers to embark on this magical adventure.

The third book in the series appears to be a fantastic experience with Delvin and his pals. With unyielding resolve, the party takes on the guild's magicians once more. It's great that this last chapter has enough background information from the previous novels to stand alone. Congrats on BOTD.

The review praises "The Magic Lantern" by Charles Townsend for its smooth pacing and engaging storyline. It appreciates the recap at the beginning for new readers and the deeper exploration of the antagonists. However, it criticizes the focus on the protagonist, Delvin, at the expense of other characters like Princess Jarla and Grimbolt.

I was drawn to the first book of this series, thanks to the title's consonance to TV-series I really enjoyed watching. Only later, after I actually read it, I understood what a tasty treat those books truly are. Reviews got it spot on with everything good said about the series, stories held so much intrigue and mystery that it is impossible to stop before you read the whole "Illusions of Power" series. Congratulations on BOTD!

A seemingly subsequence of Charles Townsend's two former books, his current one, 'The Magic Lantern' portrays Delvin's resilince to fight more armed magicians to the end.The tempo of subplots at a consistent pace calls for the readers attention, apart from giving us an insight into understanding the magicians intentions and the force behind their resilince.

While the rest are treated as minor characters, Delvin has been grossly exonerated as a lone crusader of actions, hence lowering the essence of character variation. The review has undoubtedly warmed you and me up for the read. :techie-reference:

I don't want to start reading this book until I have finished the second in the series. I have enormously enjoyed the series so far and am glad to hear from the OBC review that this instalment continues to be just as enthralling as the previous two.

"The Magic Lantern" by Charles Townsend is a fantasy/adventure book where Delvin and his friends face magicians trying to take over powerful cities. The book maintains a smooth flow with engaging pacing, focusing on Delvin's growth as a magician. While the story is unique, some readers may find the character development lacking for Princess Jarla and Grimbolt. Congrats on BOTD

The more I read about this series, the more I love it. What's more, they are all free on Amazon Kindle! I love stories where fantasy, magic, and suspense are mixed together, and I love this series. Congratulations on BOTD, and best wishes for future projects.

I'm sure that people who enjoy magical tales will eat up Mr. Townsend's novels. This isn't my type of novel, but this and other books in the series seem to be nicely written, enjoyable rides for their reading passengers.

I'm all about books about magic and adventure. This series about Delvin and his magic stone sounds like just the right book to read. Did Delvin stop the magicians for good this time around?

Sci-fi/Fantasy is really not my cup of tea, but the genre is a sure guarantee that my daughter is going to love the series. Adventure and magic are pretty much all she likes, but I hope that with the series having a bit of political intrigue in addition to a crime mystery, it is going to help hook her to more genres!
