I'm not sure if my interest would be preserved to read this book to the end because of the intense political theme. It is a nice review though. Congratulations on winning BOTD.

I enjoy fantasy novels but to be honest I'm not so sure that it will be the case with this one. The political aspect that the plot is based on, is not something that interests me. I will however give it a try and see how it goes.
Thanks for the review, although it was a well written review, I did feel that it was a bit too lengthy. Please don't take any offense to this, I mean well with my comments.
Congrats on BOTD and thanks for the free book.

"On the Precipe" is a very thrilling political drama. I could read about the alliances, rivalries, and power struggles within the Imperium government all day
The characters are so well-developed, from Raelynn's surprise mentorship under Lord Regent Levine Liston to Cyno Banner's explosive temper and Kosabeus's sharp wit. The way the author wove together their backstories and motivations was impressive, making it easy to become invested in their stories.

On the Precipice seems to be a complex storyline having Lords, Keepers, Prophates, Expansionists, Grounders, and more. It makes sense as this is the first book of the New Caelus Series. I might have to skip this as I'm not into books about political affairs. Thanks for the detailed review. Congrats on the BOTD!

“On the Precipice” by Brianna MacMahon is a sci-fi book that is based on a universe that includes civilizations on other planets. While this is possible scientists have not been able to find life on other planets. Imperium has a civilization that broke away from the Core due to religious beliefs and is now a thriving colony. They have an interesting government that is divided by seven factions led by a Lord Regent with Keepers that report to them. Keepers go to a special school after being selected at a very young age and educated to be an elite group and future Lord Regents. There are three political parties and are currently ruled by the Expansionists. Raelyn is the major character, and she has recently graduated and is now a Keeper-in-training and will be tutored by the Lord Regent of Diplomacy. This is the first book in the New Caelus series, with New Caelus being the capital city of Imperium. It does not look like any of the political parties believe in a Democracy and the rulers hold a tight rein on the citizens.

I can see this book being turned into the next multimillion earning film series. Books that have lots of characters gives way to do many moving parts that will always provide readers with new info. Congrats to the author for having the BOTD.

Thanks for your wonderful informational review. I'm glad that you enjoyed the book. I don't care much for other world development or political books. I did enjoy the author's style of writing and everything was described at the beginning, without it feeling like I was reading a dictionary. I believe that those who enjoy books like this will be glad to pick this one to read. I am going to pass on it though.

This review does a fantastic job of highlighting the intricate world-building and character development in "On the Precipice." The depiction of the political tension between Lord Regents Levine Liston and Cyno Banner, alongside the involvement of their Prophates, adds layers of intrigue and depth to the narrative. The mention of the glass war and the factions’ desire for independence further enriches the story's complexity. I appreciate how the reviewer noted the gradual progression of events, which seems crucial for establishing the book's richly detailed universe. The balance between the political maneuvering and personal stories sounds particularly engaging. I'm definitely intrigued to see how the election and power struggles unfold in this fascinating world.

This novel seems to offer a complex tapestry of politics and religion. I don't mind a slow start if that's useful to create an engaging story with strong foundations. I'll look into this series. Thank you for your great review!

Brianna MacMahon’s "On the Precipice" is a gripping tale of human resilience, balancing hope and despair with lyrical prose and vivid emotional landscapes. The expertly paced plot and richly developed characters make this novel a compelling and thought-provoking read that lingers long after the final page.Great review keep it up.

Sounds intriguing, quite sophisticated and politically charged. My only hope is that readers won't be lost among the contradicting interests of all seven factions the government is divided into, but sadly, it is impossible to read the book immediately, because despite the promise of free book, it cost $4.99 on Amazon.
