Superhighway by Alex Fayman is a fictional book unlike any I have read before. The main character leads us on a very descriptive and fast-paced adventure that allows no predictability as to what is going to happen next. What I really enjoyed about the book is that I found it captivating and hard to put down due to its lack of obvious direction and you really never knew what was going to happen next.

The main character, Alex, takes us on an adventure to different parts of the world in moments via an electrical current instigated by grabbing a live computer cable. He is able to travel along pathways and basically access, review and retain any information from anywhere. He eventually uses this access to act as a virtual Robin Hood by stealing from rich unsavory characters and giving the money to those who could truly use it. Unfortunately those same unsavory characters respond in ways Alex did not expect, ultimately harming innocents. When one such innocent was murdered by these same people, Alex is infuriated and amps up the effort to help others on a much larger and more organized scale. From the very first page, Alex's escapades and surroundings are so realistically described that it invites the reader to experience the events right alongside him.

The fact that Alex grew up in an orphanage and the questions surrounding how that came to be become clearer later in the story. Alex is a kind and thoughtful young man who occasionally falters and shows the normal human weaknesses, mistakes and regrets. His overall goal is altruistic, but the means by which he is accomplishing this is increasingly dangerous, as shown in the book's culmination.

I would rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. I think the book was extremely well edited, especially when one considers the richness of the writing. I do not recall ever reading a book with that much description of one's surroundings, so much so that one can actually imagine the scene quite vividly, thus pulling the reader in even deeper and making for a much more enjoyable reading experience.

I think that anyone who is interested in the science fiction genre would appreciate this book and enjoy the concept of being able to travel through an electric current to anywhere and see anything. When going from location to location, Alex simply puts a location in a search engine and ends up there. That is how he ended up in his first location that he travelled. He was actually looking at an image of a sports car parked on a Hawaiian beach and the screen went off. When fumbling with computer cords and unplugging and reconnecting the network cable and squeezing the tip, that is how his journeying began. He ended up in that parking lot in Hawaii by the sports car. It inspires the reader to consider what that would be like and what destination would they choose? Just a great original book overall in my opinion and as the book ends on a cliffhanger, I am looking forward to the next one.
