30th Century Escape by Mark Kingston Levin is a story following Captain Jennifer Hero and her team as they go back in time, 2015 to be precise, in an attempt to save the future as they know it. Their mission was supposed to be simple, get in; plant the virus; get out. They had it all planned out, but even the best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry. True to form, nothing goes according to plan, leaving Jennifer and her team scrambling in the wake to finish their mission, and save the future.

I am a shameless lover of Sci-Fi and this book has made my list of go-to reads! Right up there with Star Trek and Star Wars, at least for me it is. I loved this book and rate it a solid 4 out of 4. Honestly, my favorite part of this book has to be the main character, Jennifer. No matter what odds she is facing, what situation she is thrown into, she keeps a level head and deals with it head on. These types of female leads are by far my favorite; unfortunately they aren't in nearly enough books.

I can’t think of anything I didn’t like about this book and considering how picky I am that says something on its own! The characters were engaging; the setting was described in a way that pulls you in and makes you feel you are actually there, and best of all there were no useless characters. In a lot of books I read there seem to be characters that are written in with absolutely no purpose which is massively frustrating and makes reading difficult. I am happy to say this book didn’t do that.

I recommend this book to any Sci-Fi lover and any Star Trek, or Star Wars, nerd! The mysteries of space are fantastic and, when written as well as this book is, truly captivating for the reader. There is cursing and some situations that make the book more aimed for the teen or older audiences but as long as the parent reads through it first and okays it, I would say this book is good for ages sixteen and up.

The last thing that impressed me about this book was how well it was written. The dialogue was well done, the spelling and grammar were precise and all of it flowed together perfectly. All in all, a perfect read for any Fantasy nerd!
