We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz was a very enjoyable and suspenseful read! It is set in a different world and the country is called Voulhire. A king witnessed his four sons turning on one another to take the throne. But at the same time he is at suspense that his four sons are actually trying to overthrow him. To fix this he gives his children plenty of money and their own island. Everything to live a nice peaceful life For twenty years everything is peaceful, just how the king wanted. The people of this country (Voulhire) are continuing to unite with science, faith, magic and etc. But one day Galen, one of the king's son returns and everything changes.I was hooked on the description of "Like Game of Thrones but less sex and more magic." The use of magic was not all basic and stereotypical, Tysz made it a lot more unique. I really loved how Tysz was able to create a whole new world and I was able to feel although I was living in it! It was a great read but some parts felt like they needed more detail at important areas. Although a first book in a series is supposed to be slow and give plenty background the book started off slower than I wanted but went on to be a lot better. Tysz is a great author. This book covers suspense, war, power, greed and much more. I would very much recommend this book and look forward to reading the next part of this series! I give this book a 4/4!
