Review by GHOSTFRIEND -- Containment Breach
Containment Breach by Wm. A. Yandell is a combination of technology, adventure and military actions. The story has been very well planned and executed. The writer's ability to organise the various events throughout the book adds to the excitement of the story.
The story has been narrated from the perspective of Walter Smithton. He is a research scientist. He has discovered a new life form and has named it Zayans. Elsewhere, scientists have developed another life form and it has gone out of control and is killing humans. However, these life forms are far away from Earth in a spaceship.
Walter is afraid when the government sends in the military to search his facility. He is afraid that the government might become aware of his new discovery. However, the government's only intention is to find the perfect group to send to clean up the mess in the spaceship.
This is one of those stories that would make a blockbuster movie. The plot is very well-written and the author narrates everything in a very smooth and simple way. I had no difficulty in following the events unfolding one after the other. I'm not a great fan of sci-fi books but this story represented the genre very well.
The thing that I liked the most in this book is the way the writer has provided various details to us. The writer discloses only those details needed to understand the particular scene. This way the writer withholds vital pieces of information only to be disclosed later in the story to keep the suspense intact throughout the story. This makes the story very exciting and you cannot help but keep turning the pages.
I also liked the way the writer has presented Dr Smithton. His character goes through a lot of difficulties, including the betrayal from close friends. Yet, he remains focused and is determined to accomplish the mission. The writer has justified using Dr Smithton as the first-person. I'll rate this book 4 out of 4 stars.
The book was flawless and I didn't find anything that I could dislike in it. The book has surely been professionally edited. I didn't find any error throughout the book. I also noticed that the writer didn't number the chapters. This definitely didn't distract my reading. I'll suggest this book to fans of sci-fi stories. People who love to read about man-made biological life will like this story. The story moves at a great pace and maintains that pace till the end. I totally loved reading this book. I'm sure you'll like it too.
