The Hand Bringer was an absolute joy to read! A compelling story matched with a quirky, relatable team of characters. 10/10 would recommend. The struggle of the main character to find his role in this new world he has been forced into was a total nail biter. I was compelled to consume this book chapter by chapter til I was brought to an emotional yet satisfying end. If you're looking for laughs, drama, suspense and an all around great story look no further. I can't wait to see what else Christopher J. Penington has in store. Luke was easily my favorite character. He was a delightful breath of fresh air. His humor cut through any tense situation. After the tragic dissapearance of his son Peter's determination and drive to find him was a beautiful example of a love of a father and the bonds of family. I found the interactions with Ioan the blind seer to be a smooth transition for the story progress. The whole story in general had a very natural flow and progression of cause and effect as well as keeping an almost poetic mystery to the whole thing. Human nature was prominently on display. The good, the bad, and the ugly. I couldn't help feeling that these were real people I was sharing this adventure with. 4 out of 4 stars
