[Following is the official OnlineBookClub.org review of "Wish" by C. H. Aalberry.]

Wish written by C.H. Aalberry is a story where magic is spoken and power lives, where a cunning legend jumps into the future, where misfortunes bond three people and a dog in a thrilling journey. Wish is a fantasy story with adventure genre.

Dak is a constantly-bullied boy. One day, he saved another boy from bullying, but it only makes Dak the next target. The naughty boys throw some rocks on to him who sit on a branch of a tree. He fell down. When he almost fainted, while holding a red stone, he wishes to be stronger. Several years later, he IS stronger, because he grows and grows and grows, and has claws.

Dak is no longer a person whom everyone will pick a fight with. When he is back to his hometown, everyone will notice him but no one will make a mess with him. Dak is rough and tough and buff, just like a giant. He is not going to take revenge to some kids who once bullied him. He is on a search of an ancient book. This search meets him with a smart girl named Lae. Like Dak, Lae also has a unique ability. Being outcasted by their society, they decided to go on a journey together to find a way to control their power.

Reading this book is really fun. The story was written well. I was like watching all the scenes played in front of my eyes. My heart beat faster when Dak and his friends try to protect their lives from Grav-Green, or when Aventur falls from Crystal Tower, or when Chee is suddenly missing. I don’t laugh out loud when I read the story, but I do chuckle, especially when I remember how they name the dog, or how they cheat the tunnel keeper.

There isn’t a sadistic act, but there are some blood spilled out. There aren’t many puzzled mysteries in the story, but still, I don’t know how the story will end until I read the last chapter. I like it so much I give this book 4 out of 4 star rating.
