Official Review: The Warf-A-Tron Report by Alan Call
The Warf-A-Tron Report by Alan Call is the story of an amazing invention by a band of misfit college students. This invention happens to change the way governments, terrorist organizations, and societies interact with each other. Without even knowing it, Jim Warf and his friends have forever changed the face of the earth and there is nothing they can do to stop it.
The author has come up with an interesting science fiction plot and characters that have created life long memories in their college dorm room. However, many of the details about these relationships have no benefit to the plot of the story and often simply confuse the purpose of the narrative. In fact, many of the characters share the same name or a small variation of the same name such as Sam and Sammy. In a science fiction text, the reader would expect to have the scientific concepts that are vital to the plot explained. However, Call does not explain these scientific concepts with any form of clarity or a genuine understanding of the science being discussed. I love that the author attempted to build characters that care for one another within a potentially exciting narrative, but they missed the mark completely.
The concept behind this book is brilliant. An extremely intriguing set of characters with a scientific invention that changes the course of humanity is wildly inviting. Sadly, this book reads like a narrative outline. The author has decades of exciting information taking place in a single paragraph. More than once I wished the author would take a single paragraph and turn it into a science fiction series. The author does not have any sentence starter variety or understanding of narrative format. The way the author presents other characters beginning to speak is disorganized and lacks cohesion.
I am rating The Warf-A-Tron Report by Alan Call 1 out of 4 stars. This book is just not ready to be released to the public. The author has an exciting narrative outline, but the focus of the book needs to be clear to the author before it is clear to the reader. I do not get the impression that the author is clear on the purpose of their story. The lack of cohesion and reader confusion with the characters and writing format drops the story’s value down significantly. I did not find any glaring spelling or grammatical errors, but the writing needs to be organized.
I do not recommend anybody read this book yet. That being said, the author has a great idea and exciting potential with the ideas presented. With some writing organization and writer clarity, I think this could one day turn into a quality science fiction book.

I hope so as well. Thanks for your comment!Michelle Fred wrote: ↑01 Mar 2020, 04:17 It's a shame that such a brilliant plot is inundated with shoddy execution. I hope the author takes your review to heart and does what needs to be done. Thanks for your honesty.

It's a task we all must endure eventually, for the love of quality literature! Thanks for commenting!Stephanie Elizabeth wrote: ↑01 Mar 2020, 07:30 One of my biggest pet peeves in books is when characters have almost identical names--it's confusing! I am sorry you had to soldier through this one, but thanks for the honest review!

Super confusing! Thanks for commenting!fadjei wrote: ↑02 Mar 2020, 09:49 It's unfortunate that such an amazing plot did not end up materializing in this book. I also dislike when books have characters with similar names because it can get really confusing and make the reading hard to follow when it should be enjoyable.
Thanks for the review!
