Twilight is one of my favourites. Has anyone read the Carpathian vampire series? There's about 17 books, so I didn't know if it was worth it or not.

I read vampire academy! It's an awesome book series and is so much more than what is typically expected of a tale about vampires.

The bloodlines series is also pretty good, it's a spin-off of the vampire academy novels!

I completely agree! It's nice to see someone else enjoy the series as well instead of just putting it down.

Personally, the Twilight series brings suspense as the main character Bella has to make a choice between the two guys she loves...
I personally didn't enjoy the love triangle between Edward, Bella and Jacob but I loved everything else about the book!

Twilight has been a guilty pleasure of mine for a long time. Back when the movies came out, I'm ashamed to say I was once on the hate train. I saw it as Romeo & Juliet with vampires and didn't get the hype. Luckily, I was a fan of Kristen's work and gave it a chance. I fell in love with it and read the books. It's so much more intricately written than people say.

I think the Chicagoland Vampire series began quite some time prior to the release of Twilight, so it's definitely gonna be different. It's a good series, and if you're looking for vampire series with an original take, try The Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J.R. Ward.
