Book Title: THE HAND BRINGER
Author: Christopher J. Penington
This magnificent novel written by author Christopher J. Penington is about a street-cop in Dallas with unimaginable ties to Romanian midieval history. Peter Hadrian's son mysteriously disappears and his wife gets murdered. He will do anything to locate his son and that motivates him to accept a dangerous mission that requires him along with some other characters to travel back to midieval Romania to destroy evil forces that pose many threats to modern-day humans. During his stay at a secret military base, he encounters a beautifully mysterious woman that ties him to most of the events that occur in this novel.
Firstly I would like to mention that this book contains profanities, for instance: "I'm inclined to shove it up your ass.". This is merely a mild example of the profanities that I have encountered. This novel also contains brief sexual encounters and very descriptive violence. Note: this novel is not for children or sensitive readers.
This is honestly the best novel I have read this far. The author's descriptions and attention to details are brilliant. The storyline is immaculate and intriguing. I was unable to put the novel down as I was mesmerized by the story, and so deeply saddened when it had finished. The author effortlessly brought together fact, fiction, past and present, love and war. After reading this novel, I feel the need to research Romanian culture and history, especially midieval history.
The author's writing style and choice of words are brilliant. Multiple times whilst reading the novel I wished for this story to be made into a film. I could imagine the appearances of the characters and the surroundings. This is most definitely film-making material.
I did not find a single grammar or spelling error and it is clear that this novel has been professionally edited. I even found myself improving on my own vocabulary.
Although I really enjoyed reading this novel, it would have been nice if the author had included a table of contents. That is basically the only thing I found odd; no table of contents. Every book I have read in the past had a table of contents.
This is a fact/fictional novel. I would recommend it to adults and even to young adults but definitely not to children. Some people might be offended by certain events in this novel so if you are easily offended by violence or sexual content, kindly do not read in order to avoid that.
I rate this novel 4 out of 4 stars because of the immaculate storyline. The novel is written so well that I have made a conscience decision to overlook the fact that there is no table of contents. I was utterly intrigued by this novel and I will read it again and again. I just cannot stop praising this novel. It is an historical/fictional masterpiece. The missing table of contents is a small thing. I did not miss it, really.
