Homecoming by Jude Austin is book two of the Projects series. The book can be read and enjoyed without reading Project Tau by Jude Austin. However, I recommend reading the novels in sequence to have a full appreciation of the events in Homecoming. I enjoyed this sequel much more than the first installment of the series. The first book was terrific, so that is saying a lot. The action-packed story of Kata and Tau continues with a cast of new and exciting characters.

Both Project's Kata and Tau are on the run from the villainous GenTech, wanting to escape to a life of solace and peace. Could their task be that easy? Of course not! GenTech was to profit billions of dollars from the sale of these Projects. GenTech is not going to let go of their so-called claim of these two ' beast-of-burden.' Jude does a fantastic job of organically adding new characters to the plot. Of course, fewer friends and more foe. Make sure to read Homecoming to find out what happens when the story picks back up on planet Sedna. There is a lot of fight left in these two!

There were a few different pieces that I enjoyed about this book. For starters, the character introductions and development were excellent. For example, Alen steps on the scene to nurse Kata back to health from injuries. The detail of the character emotionally and physically is very well done. It is enjoyable to watch these new characters come on the scene and build a much-needed bond with these two Projects. Secondly, the side-stories are well detailed but not overdone. For example, the battle between the field hospital residents and a heard of wild animals is nicely done. Not too short, and not too long. Just a great scene to complement the main character's journey.

What I did not enjoy about this book was the extensive use of profanity. In my opinion, this vulgar language does not have any added benefit. Also, it limits the readership of the novel. For that reason, I recommend this book to a more mature audience that can stomach the foul language. The adult content is mostly the profanity. These are also accompanied by a few violent scenes and references to sexual content. But, these elements are very mild.

In conclusion, I enjoyed this book a rate it 4 out of 4 stars. You can tell this publication was professionally edited, as I only found one small grammatical error and no spelling errors. As stated above, I recommend this to a more mature audience for the use of profanity primarily. I highly recommend this sequel to fans of science-fiction, action, and thriller. Jude did an excellent job, and I cannot wait for the third novel to be published.

I recently finished reading the first book in the series. I enjoyed it and am looking forward to starting this next one. I also liked your review; it's definitely helped in propelling me to get started on the book. Nicely done!
