At the moment I like watching Science fiction Tv series. I want to start reading some good books that has some sort of planet travel, parallel dimentions, alternate realities or time travel.



Like stargate, sliders, back to the future, HG wells time machine..



Does anyone know any good books ?

The one I really love, but not sure if you are looking for, is Jumper by Steven Gould. It is about a boy who can basically teleport anywhere he wants to in the world. He robs banks, and things like that. It's really good, and I'm thinking you'd like it. There is also a movie out about it as well.

You might try a series by Ann Aguirre Book 1 Grimspace. It is space travel where the main character Sirantha Jax carries a rare gene that gives her the ability to jump ships through grimspace. This makes her a highly prized navigator for the Corp. I really enjoyed this series.

I can't believe you like the Time Machine, unless you were only talking about the film cause the book is pretty useless. There is a similar book thats better although it did leave me with a lot of unanswered questions its
A Crystal Age by William Henry Hudson (1887).

I'm on a 'stuff referenced in the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen comics' reading list so a lot of victoriana but some of its sci-fi.

I liked
First Men in the Moon by H.G.Wells (1901)
A Blazing World by Duchess Margaret Cavendish (1616) (more philosophy than sci-fi but does have parallel worlds) currently reading 'A Honeymoon in Space by George Griffith' (1899). HG Wells totally stole his cavorite idea from this, it features a sightseeing trip round the solar-system. I like it even if it is a bit pulpy.

And speaking of pulp-fiction theres 'Maza of the Moon by Otis Adelbert Kline' (1930) . I hate pulpfiction but if your going to read some i'd recommend this a lot more than Princess of Mars. It features a moon earth war (complete with giant deathray and mini deathstars). Its a bit racist it implys all chinese people are actually from the moon originally, but it has spacedragons, lazer guns which double as lightsabers etc. The background is good it describes this past war between the Moon and Mars, its good stuff (for pulpfiction).

Oh and although i havn't had a chance to read it personally i've heard good things about
The Long Earth by Terry Pratchett and Stephen Baxter.

And i nearly forgot Flatland by Edwin A. Abbott (1884), flatland is awesome!!! And features several what you could call alien worlds or dimensions. It really makes you think differently about things and its also really funny. I'm not entirely sure it was supposed to be but i thought it was hilarious.

Edit: You could also try some HP Lovecraft for example one of my favorite stories the 'Shadow out of Time'.

If you're looking for some entertaining science fiction, I would always hold up Douglas Adam's Hitchhiker's Guide the Galaxy series. It reads a lot more like a show or movie than a lot of more traditional science fiction in my opinion. As for something more like Stargate, I would check out Dan Simmons' Hyperion series, which is worth reading.

The cornerstone by nick Spalding - guy goes to the library and gets sucked through a book into a different realm

Ender's game, all about space. You may like it!

One of my favorite series is called Tennis Shoes Among the Nephites. It is by Chris Heimerdinger. The books are actually historical fiction based on certain events in the Bible and Book of Mormon, but even if you aren't well versed in these it is very entertaining. They contain lots of time travel to different places and famous events in biblical history, but also have lots of other sci-fi elements.

I haven't read all of these but I heard they were good or I felt it for myself:

Hunger games( Three books) Read
The maze runner (four books) Haven't read.
Divergent ( three books) Read

I read the Maze Runner. The first book was so interesting that I couldn't put it down, but I absolutely hated the story.

recently read, and enjoyed, Timebound, by Rysa Walker
looking forward to the release of book 2 in the series later this year

You could try Madeleine L'Engle's, A Wrinkle In Time, A Wind In The Door, A Swiftly Tilting Planet, Many Waters and AN Acceptable time. They're an easy read, but very intriguing!

I know OP hasn't been here in a while but if someone else is looking for recs, I second the PP who suggested Grimspace by Ann Aguirre!
